Description:Happy Daze -Beautiful Captiva Home Child/Family Friendly Elegance! Captiva Island. “Happy Daze” - beautiful, child and friendly home with a very private, well heated pool. The home is a very short walk to the beach (the island is only about 600 yards wide at its widest point) and shops and restaurants in the village. Our single family home has four bedrooms with four attached full baths, two with king beds, one with a queen bed, and one with two sets of bunk beds. There is also a fifth bedroom off the kitchen that is appropriate for children it has a daybed and a fold-out couch. All bedrooms have televisions. The house comfortably sleeps ten people. The property has an elevator and is accessible for those with disabilities. It also has wireless, broadband cable modem access. This is a bright, cheerful and very comfortable home that is a wonderful place to bring your children for a vacation. Good fun for all lots of board games, children’s videos and TV, ping-pong and pool tables by the pool! Come see the dolphins, manatees and river otters swimming nearby! The pool is standard size, sloping to about six feet in depth at the deep end. Pool is kept heated to approximately 90 degrees year round to encourage children to swim and play in the pool, have fun and burn off energy! Please call in advance if you would like the pool temperature lowered. The property has an elevator and is accessible for those with disabilities, but is not specifically configured for those with disabilities (does not have hand bars in bathrooms, roll-in shower, etc.) Our home has wireless, broadband cable modem access. The property is located at 14865 Captiva Drive, one house north of the northeast corner of Captiva Drive and Dickey Lane, quite near South Seas Plantation. There is parking space for up to four vehicles. The beach is a five minute walk down Laika Lane, about 1,200 feet. We’re about 600 feet from the bay side of the island. Our home is in the village shops and restaurants are a very short walk, approximately 1,000 – 2,000 feet. There are also two Marinas located within 1,000 – 2,000 feet from the home. The house is a 75 minute drive from the Ft. Myers airport, depending on traffic. You will not need to take a ferry you will drive across a newly built causeway. Grocery Stores: There are two significant grocery stores in Sanibel, approximately 15 minutes away by car, Jerry’s Foods, , and Bailey’s, . You will pass these stores as you drive through Sanibel to Captiva. You can order food from Jerry’s ahead of your visit and have it delivered to the home. There is also the Island Store on Captiva, an old fashioned convenience store, approximately 1,000 feet from our home. There is a second small store in Santiva, at the northern tip of Sanibel, just before the bridge to Captiva. It opens a bit earlier and closes a bit later than the Island Store on Captiva. Description:Fly-in, Boat-in, Tropical Island Retreat. The Island: North Captiva Island is a barrier island located north of the Sanibel/Captiva island chain and approximately 17 miles NW of Ft. Myers, Florida. The island is approximately ½ mile wide and 3 miles long with the north half of the island containing private homes and the airstrip, while the southern half is a state wildlife preserve. What sets North Captiva apart from the other islands is that access to the island is only possible by private boat, water taxi, or private airplane. There are no cars or paved roads to upset the natural beauty of the island. Transportation on North Captiva is accomplished using golf carts on scenic dirt roads and paths. Here, traffic congestion, tourist attraction hysteria and over commercialization seems worlds away. The House: Runaway Haven is a 3 Bedroom, 2 bath home located on the north west corner of the island. The house is situated next to the runway on the west end and about 300 ft from the gulf beaches. The main floor (second level) contains the living room, kitchen, dining room, office (with futon), bath and two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with two double beds. A stairs adjacent to the dining area leads down to the ground floor which contains the third bedroom with a queen bed and bath. The ground floor is completely decked and contains a beach shower enclosure, a game area with a ping-pong table, washer and dryer room and covered parking for the golf cart. From the main floor, a stair leads up to the third level deck area that provides open deck space for sun bathing. An observation deck provides an un-obstructed, 360 degree view of the island with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Inside, the house is fully furnished, with telephone,TV, VCR/CD, FAX, DSL, dishwasher as well as central air-conditioning and heating. For your outdoor needs, the main floor has a fully screened patio, and the ground floor has an outdoor deck with Charcoal Bar-B-Q grill and picnick table. Getting To the Island : Water Taxi: Island Girl Charters, located at the Pine Island Marina on Pine Island, provides scheduled water taxi service to and from North Captiva Island. Island Girl operates several 30-35 ft charter boats which will take you and all your supplies/luggage and groceries to the Island. Private Boat: If coming by private boat, the boat can be launched at the Pine Island Marina. NCIC has docks available for rent. Private Aircraft: North Captiva Island has a private airstrip approximately 2000 ft long water to water east to west on the north end of the island. Runaway Haven is a limited partner in the airstrip and therefore its guest are entitled to usage of the airstrip at no extra charge. A big pool including whirlpool of 14 by 30 feet which can be electrically or solar heated also belongs to the house. Description:Built and attractively furnished in 2004, Villa Meridien is very spacious and fully air-conditioned. Located on Colonial Pointe, a small gated community in South Fort Myers, Florida, it has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two large, open plan living and dining areas and a den. As it is south facing, overlooking the lake, it enjoys sunshine from early morning to sunset. Although a holiday villa, we have improved both the décor and furnishings to create a real home from home atmosphere in this fabulous holiday accomodation in Fort Myers. This includes drapes in many of the rooms, new master bedroom suite, new TVs and new patio furniture and loungers. We have tried to equip our house with those little extras which help to make it our holiday home. These include beautiful pictures, a bookcase full of holiday reads, some board games, pool and beach toys and a table tennis table in the garage! Also provided are: - Hi-speed internet access (you will need your own laptop) and printer - Flat screen digital TVs in the family room, master bedroom and den - DVD & radio/CD player - Two adult sized bikes - BBQ Pool and lanai: The covered lanai has a glass top table with six chairs and can be cooled by a ceiling fan. There are several loungers, two comfortable armchairs and small tables around the 28 x 14pool which can be illuminated at night by underwater lighting. The pool is heated by solar heating and, when necessary, by electric heating. Living areas: In the formal sitting area you can enjoy the view of the pool area and lake through the large french windows. It has two and three seater sofas, an armchair and coffee table. Adjoining is the formal dining area with an attractive maple dining table with six matching chairs for that special occasion. For more informal living, the breakfast room seats up to six people around a pine table with tiled top and is situated between the kitchen and the family room which has large french windows leading out to the pool area. It has two three seater sofas, two recliners, a coffee table and an attractive maple entertainment centre with DVD and radio/CD players and flat screen digital TV with over 60 cable channels, including additional sports channels. The den has a desk, comfortable sofa and TV, ideal for quiet relaxation. Bedrooms: The master bedroom and one of the other bedrooms both have king sized beds while the third bedroom has twin beds. All bedrooms are well appointed with chests, bedside tables and large closet/wardrobes with plenty of clothes hangers. The master bedroom, which has a view of the pool and lake, has an ensuite bathroom with two wash basins, bath, separate shower cubicle and separate toilet. The other two bedrooms share the second bathroom which is located between the two bedrooms. Kitchen: The kitchen is fully equipped with a cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer with ice machine, waste disposal, toaster, kettle and coffee maker.
