Description:Our beach home, The Anchorage, is located on Estero Island on Fort Myers Beach in southwest Florida. Estero Island, also known as Fort Myers Beach, is a seven-mile stretch of oceanfront filled with shopping, dining and live music entertainment. You can enjoy parasailing, jet skiing, volleyball pits, live music, eats and drinks all within walking distance. Don’t want to rely on walking, no worries. Here on the island we have a trolley that travels back and forth along the 7 miles of beach. Our beach home is less than a 2-minute walk from two trolley stops for local commuting. It truly is a carefree way to get around the island for a mere 50 cents a trip. Estero Island attracts thousands of visitors from Germany, France and the United Kingdom each year as well as many folks from the Midwest and east coast of the states. What draws all these visitors to our small beach community you ask? Miles and miles of white, powdery beaches. Honestly, Fort Myers Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Not sold yet on vacationing here on Estero Island? Well, let me tell you about The Anchorage Beach Home. Our lovely beach home is a duplex. It is perfect for two families vacationing together or one big family to spread out! We refer to the two sides as “Sunrise and Sunset” which together comprise “The Anchorage.” Our beach home boasts tasteful, tropical, airy furnishings. We refer to the two sides as “Sunrise and Relax on the lanai, dine under the large umbrella-ed deck or take a cool shower in your own private, outdoor shower. Just added, an in-ground, private, heated, swimming pool! Relax with a cold cocktail while sitting on one of the submerged stools, or maybe enjoying a fun game of water volleyball is more your style ... Just steps (about one football field) to the beach for some of the best shelling in the country, midnight star gazing and awesome sunset celebrations all at half the cost of staying beachfront. To get to the beach you simply walk out the front door, down Anchorage St. for a 2 min. walk. Immediately to the right of the beachfront home is our deeded beach access. No need to worry about wandering little ones we have a beach cart to carry your treasures (kids, coolers, towels, chairs, etc) to the beach effortlessly. Here’s the basic layout of our beach home. Right Side (Sunset) You can enter the right side of the house (Sunset) through the screened lanai. There are two bedrooms on the ground level floor. They are best described as suites. Both offer views to the in-ground swimming pool and have separate outdoor entrances. The suites can be connected to each other through a door that can be left locked for privacy or open for company. Each of these bedrooms has its own bathroom, living area consisting of chair, couch and TV as well as an outdoor porch with chairs. One of these bedrooms (queen bed) has a half bathroom and the other (queen bed) has a full bathroom, laundry facility as well as a kitchenette. The private, outdoor shower can be accessed through the hallway the leads to these bedrooms and upstairs. Upstairs you will you find the family room, kitchen, 2 decks, full sized laundry facilities, 2 bedroom (1 king and 1 queen), full bathroom and bar area with stools and dining area. Both decks are outfitted with tables and chairs. The left side of the house (Sunrise) has a separate, private entrance. It contains a small deck with table and chairs, family room, full bathroom, bedroom (king) loaded kitchen, bar area with stools and dining area. Our kitchens have everything you need and more: refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, stove/oven, coffeemaker, toaster, blender, silverware and dinnerware and all the gadgets you will need whenever you are cooking in. In addition to the three bedrooms and two bathrooms, there is an open-plan living room which provides for formal dining and has a comfortable sitting area leading to the pool deck with views of the lake beyond. The living room is equipped with stereo system, DVD/VCR and flat screen TV(cable). The good size kitchen has a newly installed smooth top range, built-in microwave, dishwasher, large 2-door fridge freezer with ice and water dispensers and a waste disposal. There is a separate laundry room with large washing machine and tumble drier, and space for airing clothes. The sunny south-facing pool deck has a shady lanai and is perfect for spotting osprey and anhingas, amongst other visitors to the lake. There are 4 sunloungers, and a dining table seating 6 for alfresco meals (gas BBQ provided). Notes: 1) In accordance with Florida law, the pool deck is protected with electronic alarms on the windows/doors opening onto the pool deck. 2) The villa will be prepared prior to your arrival by our local agents, who are also on hand throughout your stay to deal with any queries or emergencies. 3) Wifi internet access is provided free for our guests There is an international airport at Ft Myers (20 minutes from our home), with UK flights via various US hub cities. Miami and Tampa, each about 2.5 hours drive away, have direct flights from the UK, as does Orlando (3.5 hrs driving time) and Sanford, just north of Orlando. Car hire is readily available at all airports and this is best booked in this country ahead of travel. South West Florida is a wonderful year-round holiday destination and our villa is situated in South Fort Myers, just a five minute drive from uncrowded white sandy beaches. Daytime highs rarely drop below 75 F (24 C), even at Christmas - its a pleasure to enjoy warmth and sunshine during Englands depressing winter! Description:Built and attractively furnished in 2004, Villa Meridien is very spacious and fully air-conditioned. Located on Colonial Pointe, a small gated community in South Fort Myers, Florida, it has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two large, open plan living and dining areas and a den. As it is south facing, overlooking the lake, it enjoys sunshine from early morning to sunset. Although a holiday villa, we have improved both the décor and furnishings to create a real home from home atmosphere in this fabulous holiday accomodation in Fort Myers. This includes drapes in many of the rooms, new master bedroom suite, new TVs and new patio furniture and loungers. We have tried to equip our house with those little extras which help to make it our holiday home. These include beautiful pictures, a bookcase full of holiday reads, some board games, pool and beach toys and a table tennis table in the garage! Also provided are: - Hi-speed internet access (you will need your own laptop) and printer - Flat screen digital TVs in the family room, master bedroom and den - DVD & radio/CD player - Two adult sized bikes - BBQ Pool and lanai: The covered lanai has a glass top table with six chairs and can be cooled by a ceiling fan. There are several loungers, two comfortable armchairs and small tables around the 28 x 14pool which can be illuminated at night by underwater lighting. The pool is heated by solar heating and, when necessary, by electric heating. Living areas: In the formal sitting area you can enjoy the view of the pool area and lake through the large french windows. It has two and three seater sofas, an armchair and coffee table. Adjoining is the formal dining area with an attractive maple dining table with six matching chairs for that special occasion. For more informal living, the breakfast room seats up to six people around a pine table with tiled top and is situated between the kitchen and the family room which has large french windows leading out to the pool area. It has two three seater sofas, two recliners, a coffee table and an attractive maple entertainment centre with DVD and radio/CD players and flat screen digital TV with over 60 cable channels, including additional sports channels. The den has a desk, comfortable sofa and TV, ideal for quiet relaxation. Bedrooms: The master bedroom and one of the other bedrooms both have king sized beds while the third bedroom has twin beds. All bedrooms are well appointed with chests, bedside tables and large closet/wardrobes with plenty of clothes hangers. The master bedroom, which has a view of the pool and lake, has an ensuite bathroom with two wash basins, bath, separate shower cubicle and separate toilet. The other two bedrooms share the second bathroom which is located between the two bedrooms.
