It's a quiet, gated community that shows off lush landscaping and beautiful lakes, which are home to multiple housing units consisting of luxurious single family homes and carefree villas. The neighbors are friendly and courteous (usually like to congregate around the pool). There's dozens of wonderful restaurants, beaches and golf courses within minutes of the 2nd floor condo, as we conveniently sit about 1 1/4 mile away from the Gulf. (homemade ice cream shop within walking distance-- yummy!!):) We just installed a new air-conditioning system and installed shutters throughout the interior of the condo. The screened-in lanai overlooks the beautiful pool. We are looking for rentors who will keep the condo clean and tidy. Description:Happy Daze -Beautiful Captiva Home Child/Family Friendly Elegance! Captiva Island. “Happy Daze” - beautiful, child and friendly home with a very private, well heated pool. The home is a very short walk to the beach (the island is only about 600 yards wide at its widest point) and shops and restaurants in the village. Our single family home has four bedrooms with four attached full baths, two with king beds, one with a queen bed, and one with two sets of bunk beds. There is also a fifth bedroom off the kitchen that is appropriate for children it has a daybed and a fold-out couch. All bedrooms have televisions. The house comfortably sleeps ten people. The property has an elevator and is accessible for those with disabilities. It also has wireless, broadband cable modem access. This is a bright, cheerful and very comfortable home that is a wonderful place to bring your children for a vacation. Good fun for all lots of board games, children’s videos and TV, ping-pong and pool tables by the pool! Come see the dolphins, manatees and river otters swimming nearby! The pool is standard size, sloping to about six feet in depth at the deep end. Pool is kept heated to approximately 90 degrees year round to encourage children to swim and play in the pool, have fun and burn off energy! Please call in advance if you would like the pool temperature lowered. The property has an elevator and is accessible for those with disabilities, but is not specifically configured for those with disabilities (does not have hand bars in bathrooms, roll-in shower, etc.) Our home has wireless, broadband cable modem access. The property is located at 14865 Captiva Drive, one house north of the northeast corner of Captiva Drive and Dickey Lane, quite near South Seas Plantation. There is parking space for up to four vehicles. The beach is a five minute walk down Laika Lane, about 1,200 feet. We’re about 600 feet from the bay side of the island. Our home is in the village shops and restaurants are a very short walk, approximately 1,000 – 2,000 feet. There are also two Marinas located within 1,000 – 2,000 feet from the home. The house is a 75 minute drive from the Ft. Myers airport, depending on traffic. You will not need to take a ferry you will drive across a newly built causeway. Grocery Stores: There are two significant grocery stores in Sanibel, approximately 15 minutes away by car, Jerry’s Foods, , and Bailey’s, . You will pass these stores as you drive through Sanibel to Captiva. You can order food from Jerry’s ahead of your visit and have it delivered to the home. There is also the Island Store on Captiva, an old fashioned convenience store, approximately 1,000 feet from our home. There is a second small store in Santiva, at the northern tip of Sanibel, just before the bridge to Captiva. It opens a bit earlier and closes a bit later than the Island Store on Captiva.
