Description:This is a two story, detached guest house that was recently built by me, the owner. I have built a number of high end homes and houseboats like the one in Sleepless in Seattle. It reflects my interest in good design and function, blending a mix of modern craftsmanship. I built all the doors and windows, the cabintry and built-ins, even the bed and dresser. The guest house is entered along a path by the 1910 bungalow that I also restored, and through a gated patio that the guest house opens onto through french doors from the bedroom. The downstairs has radiant heat flooring and an exposed wood ceiling. Upstairs is a sitting area that opens on to a deck that looks out across to Beacon Hill. Walking back through the house you pass the cozy breakfast nook, and into the galley style kitchen, featuring cabinets of lacewood and maple.The neighborhood is very quiet residential, a 5-10 minute drive to Columbia City or 20 minutes to downtown. However, there is so much to do just a few blocks away. There is a wonderful variety of restaurants, local coffee shops, and bars within a three blocks radius. There is a 24 hours open QFC 2 blocks away. And just 5 blocks aways is Seattle Center, the cultural center of Seattle. We have maps, guidebooks, and brochures handy for our guests to explore the city. If you work at Amazon or Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. you will love walking to work everyday! The neighborhood is also very well connected to the rest of Seattle, with ample number of buses. If you have a car, you can get on WA-99 just 2 blocks away. If you want a car for short travels, we highly recommend Zipcar. There are Zipcars right outside the building. It is a No Smoking Building, so we will expect you to respect that. 2 great Hybrid bikes to rent at $20/day : If you are even remotely interested in biking, you don't want to miss Seattle's picturesque urban trails (the buses also allow bikes onboard). The bikes come with helmets and locks. Parking : There is plenty of paid and free street parking available in the vicinity. Description:A safe haven for women travelers, we are located just South of Seattle, within walking distance of Puget Sound, and 20 minutes from Seattle by automobile or Light Rail. We are about 1/4 mile from Ambaum Ave. and the 120 bus either to the Burien Transit Center or to downtown Seattle. Light rail from Tukwilla Station is now open. We provide a women-only self-catering studio. That means coffee/tea/cereal/milk/bread/butter/fruit/yoghurt is provided but hot breakfast is not served. Studio has own 3/4 bath, Queen bed, loveseat folding out to futon, dresser and closet space. Full kitchen, dining and living areas, iron/ironing board, WiFi. Perfect if you like to cook. Smoking is outside at the back of the yard only, so it does not come in our open windows. Fresh linens and towels provided weekly. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We are a quiet and meditative WOMEN-ONLY household. Please, no drugs, parties, alcohol abuse, or theft. No illegal activity allowed what-so-ever. An occasional glass of wine with dinner is our style as well. If you must smoke, then go out to the chairs at the back of the property so the smoke does not drift in our windows. No male guests overnight. All women are welcome. Most children are welcome but we need to discuss prior. We do have pets. Sorry, no additional pets. Our pets do not have to visit you, and if you are allergic we can keep them out of your space. If you are highly allergic then we might not be the best place. Check in time is at 4:00 p.m. or later and check out time is at 11:00 am or sooner. These times are negotiable if no one is here prior or after your visit. If you could give me an estimated time you'll be checking in and checking out, it would be greatly appreciated. The rest of the house is open and spacious, so feel free to spread out and make your-self comfortable in the many shared living spaces. Fridge space is also available if you want to pick up a few groceries. Our home is situated in a quiet, new residential area of Kent with free street parking. Owner occupied during fall/winter/spring and then the entire house is available for summer high season rentals.Rent a room in our house for 1 or more nights or a full week. Located in the heart of Eastsound for easy access to all shops, restaurants, and businesses.Choose the room on the bottom floor next to the TV/bonus space or the room on the main floor located next to the private bathroom/shower. We celebrated our eldest son s 30th birthday, did some fishing in Cascade Lake and Mountain Lake, and were successful in bringing back some fish. Yesterday we took advantage of the guided trip to watch whales and saw some playful activity. A great photo op---a whale jumped high for us! All in all it was a restful, relaxing, and memorable vacation.Your home is very beautiful, thank you for sharing your home with our family. We loved taking walks in town and enjoying the scenery.
