If all of this sounds like the ideal Italian villa vacation, this Tuscany Chianti villa is the choice for you. This complete estate includes everything it began with in the thirteenth century, from wine cellars to a church and stables. At this Tuscany villa rental in northern Siena, you will be the master of your own domain! Spend afternoons wandering through over five hundred acres of vineyards, olive groves, and gardens, or organize and outing to one of the nearby cities... including Siena and Florence. However you choose to spend your days, this accommodation in Tuscany will not disappoint you. n nThis Estate is a 13th century borgo with an old farmhouse, wine cellars, olive and oil mills, carpenter shop, small church, and stables. The villa has belonged to the same family since the 17th century. The beautiful property is over 250 hectares [about 625 acres], and includes vineyards that produce a wonderful Chianti Classico, olive trees [which produce a tasty extra virgin oil], hay fields and woods. The view from the estate includes rolling hills, the old walled town of Monteriggioni, and in the distance, the towers of San Gimignano. There is ample area for parking on the property. The 500 meter unpaved driveway leading to the villa is lined with cypress, and opens to a well preserved Italian garden. The antique swimming pool [11 m x 6 m x 2 m] is surrounded by classical statues. This pool is open from 1 May to mid-October. A second, larger swimming pool [15m x 7m] is located by the out-buildings and has a lovely view over an infinity-edge. There is a BBQ area available, there is a bocce court in the back garden, and billiard and table tennis are both available. No children under the age of 14 are allowed on the property, due to the valuable antiques inside the villa and around the pool. nThe villa features original furniture from the 17th century and frescos in the Empire bedroom, the dining room, the ballroom, and the Egyptian library. The friendly and hospitable owners live on the third floor of the Villa [separate entrance], and the guardians live on the property along with other farmers on the estate. The owners' dogs have their own enclosed garden, however, they can be heard during their daily walks on the property! The private area outside the Villa consists of the Italian garden, equipped with large sunshades, wood deck chairs, and marble table with wrought iron chairs for 8 people. nLa Casa is a spacious and independent rustic country house, independent from the villa, near the second swimming pool with a garden area overlooking the vineyards. There is a large fig tree providing shade and a barbecue area and table tennis. There is an outside table for eating that can seat twelve, and there is other garden furniture. On the grounds there are also a bocce court and an archery range. The house is furnished with simple, antique furniture, terra cotta floors, wood beamed ceilings, and whitewashed walls. There are wonderful views from all of the windows. nLa Volta is a bright and spacious farmhouse that is ideal for families and groups. There is a private garden area with barbecue and marble table. nThe entire estate can sleep a total of 32 people. nEvery Saturday the bedrooms and bathrooms are cleaned and the linens and towels are changed. Additional cleaning is available at 10 Euros per hour. Dinner services are available [with advance notice] for 45 Euros per person for a minimum of 6 people [wine is not included]. Cooking lessons are also available [with advance notice] for 100 euros per person for a minimum of 4 people, maximum of 6 people. n nLa Villa: nEach floor is 400 m2 in size. nGround floor: There is a very large sitting room with frescos, decorated ceilings, columns and fireplaces, with a dining room area with seating for six. French doors open onto the Italian garden. There is a Billiard room, and a modern kitchen that faces the back garden with a big wooden table. There is a dishwasher, gas cook top, toaster, filter coffee pot, Italian coffee pot, mixer and oven. A door leads to a shower room and two toilets. nFirst floor: A cherry wood staircase leads up to the first floor where there is the main entrance, a beautiful dining room decorated with frescos and a table that can seat up to 20 people. There is also a library and a sitting room. There are three double bedrooms room and two bathrooms. The Cardinal bedroom has a double bed, two windows, and a fireplace. The Dutch bedroom has a queen bed, two windows, and a little sitting room with a library with telephone. The two bedrooms share a bathroom with tub, bidet, WC, and wonderful views of Monteriggioni. The Empire bedroom has a double bed with canopy, a private sitting room, and an en suite bathroom with tub, bidet and WC. There is also a laundry room with washing machine. nSecond floor: There is one bedroom with twin beds, and a bathroom with shower. nAvailable amenities: Cleaning service 2 hours/day Mon-Sat, washing machine, dishwasher, Satellite TV with CNN and BBC, telephone, fax machine, answering machine, hair dryer, stereo, CD player, iron and ironing board. There are screens on the windows. nPlease note: There is no central heating. nLa Casa: nGround floor: There is a large entry and storage room with a washing machine. nFirst floor: There are two comfortable sitting rooms with a Satellite TV and stereo, a dining room that can seat twelve, a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, and a bathroom with shower and tub. nSecond floor: On the top floor are three double bedrooms with twin beds and three double bedrooms with double beds with canopies. During the 13th and 14th centuries it flourished as one of the major cities of Europe, growing rich from banking and the wool trade. The 14th century saw a great amount of construction: the Duomo, the Palazzo Publico and the Campo Square were all products of this time. Siena's glory took a tragic downturn by the end of the 14th century due to the Black Death and political upheaval. The city became little more than a rural market center. It was exactly this decline that accounts for the incredible state of medieval preservation that Siena exhibits today. Built across several hills and valleys, you will find a bit of up and down while walking through the historical center. Description:Hotel Casci is a small family run hotel centrally located in the heart of the historical center of Florence, only 150 meters from Florence Cathedral (Duomo) and the Academy of Fine Arts (David), just 10 minutes' walk from the Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio. Our hotel is located inside two palaces of the 15th century built at the time of the Medici family, and the rear part was a convent, hence comes a pretty special atmosphere of old-world charm, with original fresco ceilings and a maze of long carpeted hallways. Hotel Casci was started in 1926 by Mrs Casci and it was happily welcomed by the local press as the first hotel in Florence with hot and cold water in all rooms. The medieval town of Siena was founded by the Etruscans and later became a Roman colony. During the 13th and 14th centuries it flourished as one of the major cities of Europe, growing rich from banking and the wool trade. The 14th century saw a great amount of construction: the Duomo, the Palazzo Publico and the Campo Square were all products of this time. Siena 's glory took a tragic downturn by the end of the 14th century due to the Black Death and political upheaval. The city became little more than a rural market center. Situated between the apartments and the olive press, the library and theatre represent an opportunity for the guests of SUNSHINE VILLAGE to meet, enjoy a cultural life and relax among a wide range of books and magazines, together with the areas for reading, talking, games and shows. The theatre and indoor areas are set up to host artistic and musical events, meetings and conferences. The library, planned in full respect of the 1994 UNESCO programme, which sees this place as a symbol of easy access to multimedia information, offers the guests of SUNSHINE VILLAGE an opportunity to consult books, magazines, Italian and foreign newspapers, to follow recent events or get to know more about the history and culture of the area and of Italy. On the gallery floor of the library is the multimedia area: apart from giving free access to internet, the computers may be used for access to on-line information. The library therefore represents the successful union of tradition and computer science. The library space will be used for organizing art exhibitions, conferences and meetings. The theatre Situated between the two courtyards of the SUNSHINE VILLAGE, the Theatre, which maintains its ancient charm, is used as an entertainment area for guests, or for cultural activities and conferences. The most advanced technology of modern installations and equipment for the shows live alongside the old architecture of the room, endowing the place with a new charm. The woodland paths SUNSHINE VILLAGE is surrounded by eight hundred hectares of woodland, going from 600 to 1000 metres of altitude up to the crests of the Pratomagno mountains. When walking along the paths of the estate, the guests of SUNSHINE VILLAGE are surrounded by beech and chestnut trees, and the waters of the Resco river add further sound and colour to the scene. The estate is populated by many different species, such as wild boars, deer, pheasants and hares. The restaurant The old stables at the SUNSHINE VILLAGE have been completely redesigned and renovated to house our restaurant, whilst retaining the original character of the place: three octagonal chestnut pillars, plain brick barrel vaults, three large windows. This is the setting for the over 20-foot long showcase, in light-coloured wood, a generous pantry loaded with the products of the Fattoria, wine, vinsanto, oil, honey, marmalade, chestnut flour, potatoes, chickpeas, lentils, zolfino beans from Pratomagn these old flavours will lend their zest, in the different seasons of the year, to our house recipes and to the local cuisine of the Valdarno. Five sculptures in wood, representing a cane thicket, are placed around the room to separate each of the ten tables, to ensure atmosphere and charm, whilst the old family prints on the walls – horses and riders - bring back to mind the original use of the building. The yellow linen tablecloths, the elegant armchairs, the tables and ivory porcelain tableware bring warmth and light into the picture. Under the arches of the portico opposite the Restaurant we will serve breakfast or candle-lit dinner in summer, among stone capitals and rounded boxwood hedges. Biliard hall The square room underneath the huge cross vault is dominated by a large Renaissance open fireplace: on one side of the room we find the precious family billiard, a 1914 Della Chiesa, in another corner a wonderful French gaming table, and six antique pictures on the wall. An ideal room dedicated to games, conversation and entertainment. Connectivity A wi-fi switchboard guarantees full connectivity with Internet in the indoor areas of the Fattoria: it is therefore possible to check one's e-mails in one of the reading areas of the library, as well as download multimedia material during a conference in the theatre. All the apartments are supplied with telephone connections for those who don't have Bluetooth in their laptop.
