Description:Located in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, the Agriturismo Castiglion Alberti offers a place of rest and authentic harmony with the surrounding nature. The guesthouse stands on a priviledged position, on the top of a hill covered by oak woods and fields of olive trees. A white road crosses the woods and gets to the house after about 3 Km from the main road linking the Valdarno area with the Senese countryside. Castiglion Alberti is located in the neighbourhood of three of the most famous Tuscan cities: Firenze, Arezzo and Siena. But there are also many little chacacteristic bourgs, wine cellars with the Chianti label, and the Rapolano Thermal Spas are only 20min driving from the guesthouse. But the isolation is just apparent.The small bourg of Castiglion Alberti is in reality animated by the activity of the ceramic workshop of the artist Chrstiane Perrochon, located in the old little church, and by the organic farm and guesthouse of Frédéric von Arx. This young farmer dedicates himself to the breeding of Garfagnine cows, horses and little farm animals, grows organic vagetables and produces a 100% organic extra vergine olive oil. In addition to the rent of the guesthouse, the Agriturismo offers the possibility to taste the genuine products of the farm in a confortable and familiar context. Frédéric has previously learned as a cook in a very renomated Osteria from the area, and now prepares special meals for his guests (on demand), principally using the fresh products from his farm, and sets beautiful tables with the colourful ceramics from the workshop. Both the ceramic workshop and the Agriturismo have belonged to the von Arx family for over than thirty years, when they discovered this magic place in a state of neglect and decided to give new life to the small bourg. The two little apartments availables for rent are adjacent to the main house, a traditional country house in stone, and they both have private access to the surrounding garden. They are furnished very simply, but have all the necessary comforts: - the Studio is an independent unity next to the house, consisting in a little kitchen, a bathroom with coloured sanitary fittings from the brand NIC Design, a large bedroom/leavingroom, and a second bedroom with two single beds (optional). - the second apartment is called The room with the arches, and it is composed by a main room with two large crossing arches in red bricks. There is a double bed and optionnally a single bed for an other person. This bathroom too is furnished with NIC Designs sanitaries, the result of a collaboration between Christiane Perrochon and an italian factory. There is also a piano for music players and a little library with books in different languages. The Agriturismo offers the services of half-board and full-board, in addition to the rent of the apartments (breakfast is included in the base price). It can welcome from 2 to 7 people, distributed in the two unities. Even if there isn't a swimmingpool at the house, there is a little pool for children with some other garden games, and in the next village, Capannole (only 3km far from Castiglion Alberti), there is a very nice open air swimming pool.
