It's perfect if you want... • to be a few mins walk from Old Town Hastings • an area with local shops, bars and good restaurants • to avoid the late night noise of Old Town Hastings • the most popular residential street in Hastings due to the breathtaking panoramic oceanviews, castle and westhill green. Welcome to your English seaside retreat! • Your Bedroom A large and comfortable double bed, in a modern bright room at the back of the apartment, so it's supremely peaceful, quiet and private. Bedroom looks out onto a petite, artistic Tuscan-style courtyard garden with colourful outdoor chairs for breakfast or a relaxing glass of wine. Half wardrobe and two drawers for storage space. Extra blankets. DVD player with screen (TV channels avail in lounge). Large range of DVDs to cozy up and watch if you feel like it! Hairdryer and hair-straighteners. Towels for guests. • Extra Guests: the couch in the lounge is a comfy John Lewis pull-out double bed (sleeps 1-2 adults) or there is also an additional single roller-bed stored in the hallway cupboard. The whole flat is ideally suitable for a couple, or 2 adults 2/3 children, or 4 adults comfortably. • WIFI wireless internet access (access code in my Guest Guidebook). • FREE local, national and international telephone landline calls (not mobiles) to over 30 countries including Australia, USA, France, Italy (free international call when call time is less than 45mins please so if you want to speak for longer, hang up then call them back for another 45mins). Full list of countries included is next to telephone. • Bathroom Power shower (over bath). Help yourself to a luxurious bubble bath, shampoo, conditioner and shower goodies. I provide fresh bath towels and boutique soap for guests. • Kitchen and living room You are welcome to use the kitchen and fridge. I don't officially provide breakfast but you can help yourself to porridge or breakfast cereal in the kitchen. I have a selection of tea and coffee available and juicers if you have your own fruit. The front patio overlooks the hill and sea great as a summer breakfast spot. Feel free to relax in the living room. I am always away when guests book the apartment, so you have the place entirely to yourself! • Westhill Green There's a lush green outside the apartment, with panoramic views all around Hastings and the Castle. I often walk across in the morning enjoying a cup of tea and the sea views. Perfect meditation spot. Many writers enjoy my flat as it's peaceful and idyllic. Enjoy a picnic and bottle of wine on the hill during summer! Or use the gorgeous back courtyard outside kitchen door for a Mediterranean style evening! Take across a few of the outdoor garden chairs, onto the westhill. It's literally outside the front door! Great place to watch the sunset with champagne in evening! (As a convenience, I always have a bottle of nice bubbly and wine chilling in the fridge and a few picnic snacks for convenience. Guests are welcome to enjoy these and pop a contribution in kitchen jar!) • Local area Across the road is Hastings Westhill cafe next to the castle, for coffee overlooking the sea. Hastings Old Town is 3 minutes walk and has many breakfast cafes, bars, restaurants and some tucked-away antiques stores and art spaces such as the impressive Jerwood Gallery. A favourite spot for dinner is Porters in the old town, which does fabulous roasts, great wine list and jazz or acoustic music Sunday afternoons. Hastings is quite reasonably priced for nights out. Of course, walking along the seafront is a perfect way to enjoy Hastings. In my Guest Guidebook, I have listed different lengths of local walks along the coastline and promenade areas. For instance, during summer months there is a 30minute walk to St. Leaonards cafes or a 50minute walk to the fabulous outdoor Beach Cafe for great breakfasts. Nearby Rye is a very popular ancient village which you can travel to by car (15mins) or bus. I have directions and suggestions in the Guidebook I put together for guests. • Travel from London Trains from London to Hastings depart from Victoria, Charing Cross, Canon Street and London Bridge regularly 7 days a week. It's around around 1 hour and 45mins travel time by train. Train tickets are much cheaper if you request 30-day return ticket for around £30 per person. Check train times on TheTrainLine website. Taxis are about £5 from Hastings station to my apartment. Or 15 minutes walk to/from apartment to Hastings station. Driving takes approximately 2.5hours from central London. You can use the AA RoutePlanner to estimate driving time from your location to my apartment postcode TN34 3JL • Smoking This is a non-smoking apartment so please respect that request thank you! • Pets I don't own any pets and this is a pet-free apartment please. Description:The cottage is owned by a local artist and her husband, is newly built, and brand new to the holiday let market. It sits within the owners secure, electric gated grounds. Built in an English heritage style, it stands in delightful surroundings, has a stunning interior, and a cottage style, private garden. It is located on the outskirts of town, but is under a 4 minute drive away from central St. Leonards and the Seafront. St. Leonards is quirky, has some great architecture, interesting streets, with shops offering everything from every day necessities, to antiques. Along the seafront there are art galleries, coffee shops and a cultural mix of eating places. Its close neighbour Hastings with its Old Town, working fishing beach, smugglers caves, traditional seaside activities, museums, and much more is an historic gem,waiting for you to explore. Surrounding St. Leonards are many pretty villages and towns, the nearest being Battle (famous for the1066 Battle of Hastings). Along the coast is Eastbourne which sits at the foot of the South Downs National Park (a must for walkers), and further up the coast is the town of Brighton (nick-named Little London), which has a lively bohemian atmosphere, evident both day and night. London itself is easily reached via Warrior Square Station (mainline to Charing Cross) , and West St, Leonards Station, to London Victoria (via Lewes). Description:This Georgian terraced fisherman's cottage has the most beautiful original Victorian solid fuel range in the sitting room - is elegantly furnished in an attractive mix of antique furniture - all combining to offer cosy and quaint accommodation - full of character and charm. The enclosed, prettily planted patio garden catches the sun and being located down a quiet twitten is a great place to relax and unwind. With views over to the castle and the sea - the cottage is located only 200 yards from the original cable car lift to East Cliff and the Country Park plus museums, galleries and the fishing fleet are nearby making this a great holiday cottage. Ground Floor: Sitting Room is carpeted with rugs, has a solid fuel range with grand overmantle mirror, antique sofa, two armchairs, occasional tables, TV and shelves with lots of interesting ornaments and curios Kitchen with laminate flooring, electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge with freezer compartment. Pine table and four chairs and door to enclosed patio garden Steepish stairs lead to... First Floor: Bedroom 1 is carpeted, with a double bed, two antique chest of drawers, built-in clothes hanging, chair, beautiful original fireplace and views over the twitten and out to sea. Bathroom with a bath, over-bath shower, pine towel rail, washbasin and w.c. Second flight of steepish stairs lead to... Second Floor: Bedroom 2 with a small double bed (4') and a futon bed, small chest of drawers, bookcase, pine towel rail, velux rooflight and window with views across the rooftops to the sea, pier and beachy Head. Garden: Prettily planted enclosed patio with bench. Parking: Weekly parking permits can be purchased or some free street parking is available about 5 mins walk from the cottage. Heating: Gas central heating plus working solid fuel range. Notes: Due to the steepish stairs the cottage is not really suitable for anyone with mobility problems or children under 5.
