Wander the streets of Bruges It's a bit of a cliché when it comes to 'budget tips', but it really is difficult to think of a city nicer to wander around for a few hours than Bruges. Description:The house is a restored contemporary designed historic house located in one of the prettiest parts of the old center right in front of the baroque St-Anne's church on a cobblestone square. It's an easy 5-10 minute walk along the beautiful canals to most of the city's highlights. There are also a couple of nice museums just around the corner. The area is really quiet but supersafe. There are a couple of good upscale restaurants and bars nearby and a quaint bistro on the square itself. Self-catering is no problem either as there is a supermarket really close as well as some delicious bakeries, etc... There is free (limited time -blue disc) parking right in front of the door. The house itself has 3 floors (no elevator). The ground floor has a large living room with open annexed dining room and kitchen. The upper floors each have a bathroom (one with a jacuzzi, the other with a shower) and bedrooms. There's no large garden but a pretty bamboo lined terrace with a table some sunloungers in case the weather would allow for sunbathing. Some of the amenities: WIFI, cable TV, guest computer, radio, dishwasher, laundromat, stove oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and pretty much everything you might need in the kitchen. As I usually live in the house there will be basic food products too. You can use it but be fair and replenish the products you used. Description:I live in a cosy house (wood floor, fire place, grand piano, ...) just outside the city centre of Ghent (about a 8 min. walk). There is a bathroom with shower, a fully-equiped kitchen and living room/piano room/library. There is also a garden. Wireless internet is also available. The neighborhood is quite multi-cultural, which has a lot of advantages. Most important maybe is that there are a lot of cheap shops where you can buy food for next-to-nothing (bakeries, chicken stands, etc...) There is a big public transport hub (Rabot) at 300m, which connects to almost all important lines. Also, there is a tram/busstop at 150m from the house.
