The house is located midway between Florence and Arezzo, on the cliff of the Pratomagno mountain, with a stunning sight on the whole Valdarno valley and the Chianti hills, immersed in nature and surrounded by olive trees (we do our own olive oil). This apartment has two bedrooms with a large canopy double bed each, its own living room with kitchen, a bathroom and its own outdoor garden area, bordered by a hedge. Our private swimming pool, immersed in the silent surroundings of the countryside, will help you to find ultimate relaxing! You will also find a common room with TV and sofas. Valdarno valley, the area between Florence, Chianti and Arezzo is famous for its oil, its wine and great food, like fiorentina steak. Its rolling hills are covered with olive groves and vineyards, it has plenty of beautiful restored historical buildings, including many castles and abbeys and it is close to the National Park of the Casentino Forest. All these features contribute to its charm and serene country atmosphere but it is in easy reach of towns such as Arezzo, Florence and Siena. The area is safe and quiet, very peaceful, rich in historical attractions perfect location for walking and mountain-bike. SPA town, Rapolano Terme, is 30 minutes away. Nearest village (Castelfranco) with many small shops and a supermarket is 4 km away! The Mall, one of the biggest outlet in Italy, is just 20 km from here. Description:High on the side of a hill, looking out over the folds of the Chianti landscape, Casa Silvia is an enchantingly simple house, with terraces and gardens ranged around it allowing you to follow the sun or avoid it. This is a house designed for reading, sipping wine and setting the world to rights, relaxed in an armchair watching the sun change the colours of the hills as it sinks in the distance. A path leads to the nearby Loro Ciuffena - a 20 minute walk that avoids the roads and gets you in the mood for one of the good local restaurants - remember to take a torch for your walk back amongst the fireflies. nThe front of the house has a large shaded pergola. One enters to find a living room to the left with a wood-burning stove, and a well-equipped kitchen which opens directly out onto a private garden with stunning views. Up the stairs there is a comfortable double bedroom, a twin bedroom, a small single bedroom and a very cosy (but not small!) study with a fireplace and access to a covered terrace. The furniture is simple and stylish, and the house retains its country charm. nThe house is set against the hillside of Pratomagno - a chain of hills rising to 1591 metres - around 4500 feet - all within protected National Park status. There are beautiful walks, ancient monasteries set in chestnut woods, and cycling trails. Florence is very close by, and can be reached by train, avoiding parking and driving problems. Siena and Arezzo are within an hour.
