Description:Hey, We've got a really lovely apartment in Long Beach, which is 30 minutes south of Hollywood and in a wonderful neighborhood. It's about a ten minute walk to the ocean, which has plenty of beautiful beaches and biking paths, as well as downtown Long Beach and great public transport. It's also a five minute walk from a major grocery store (Ralph's) and a variety of bars and nightlife, including the art galleries on fourth street, the famous vintage stores there, and an awesome local movie theater. The apartment itself is bright, quite spacious, and has windows on all four sides, including a nice view of the ficus trees in front. The place is fully furnished and comes equipped with new appliances. Parking is never a problem, and high speed internet is available, as well as a communal washer and dryer. We're looking for someone who's responsible and trustworthy. We're both graduate students and not out to make a profit we'd just like to share our home while we travel to help deflect the costs. I was weary at first and didn't know what to expect, but Gary made me feel very comfortable and provided me with so many resources that it made for an easy adjustment. The location in North Hollywood was very convenient with access to the freeway, shops, restaurants, etc. The other guests staying at the Chateau were great and provided me with a sense of close community I couldn't get by staying somewhere else. I attended Acting Corps during my stay and found out that many of my other suite mates were doing the same so it made it fun and interesting. I met people from all over the world there with all different backgrounds and ended up having a great experience. A Gary was the nicest guy I had met in LA when I checked in. I went there because it was cheap like nothing else in LA and everyone was just like me, a stranger in pursuit a dream and themselves. It was a great stepping stone. I was pleaseantly surprised by Chateau de Soleil so much that I cancelled a two day reservation at another hostel and extended my stay at the Chateau. I found the manager Gary extremely helpful and chatty, and he provided me with assistance beyond the simple practicalities of the stay itself (such as directions, printing a few documents etc.). My stay was in the low season there were plenty of open beds which probably have given me a different experience than someone arriving in the peak season when the place is buzzing. The atmosphere is relaxed and most of the people living here were long term residents who studied in the neighborhood (mainly actors, directors, dancers etc). If you're expecting to meet tons of new people to do things with and party all the time, then this place might not be for you (at least in the off season ,can't speak for the peak season). On the other hand if you're looking for a good and cheap place to live along with a bunch of other nice people then I highly recommend you to consider staying at the Chateau. The location is not that bad, but don't expect to walk out the front door and be in the middle of all the action. Personally I didn't mind walking for 10 15 minuttes to and from the North Hollywood metro station. There's a police station right across the street, so you feel pretty safe safer than a lot of other places I can imagine.... more info >>

Depart the North Hollywood Metro station. Proceed to street level and head south on Lankershim Blvd. towards Magnolia Blvd. Reviews: I loved staying at the Chateau. I was weary at first and didn't know what to expect, but Gary made me feel very comfortable and provided me with so many resources that it made for an easy adjustment. The location in North Hollywood was very convenient with access to the freeway, shops, restaurants, etc. The other guests staying at the Chateau were great and provided me with a sense of close community I couldn't get by staying somewhere else. I attended Acting Corps during my stay and found out that many of my other suite mates were doing the same so it made it fun and interesting. I met people from all over the world there with all different backgrounds and ended up having a great experience. A Gary was the nicest guy I had met in LA when I checked in. I went there because it was cheap like nothing else in LA and everyone was just like me, a stranger in pursuit a dream and themselves. It was a great stepping stone. I was pleaseantly surprised by Chateau de Soleil so much that I cancelled a two day reservation at another hostel and extended my stay at the Chateau. I found the manager Gary extremely helpful and chatty, and he provided me with assistance beyond the simple practicalities of the stay itself (such as directions, printing a few documents etc.). My stay was in the low season there were plenty of open beds which probably have given me a different experience than someone arriving in the peak season when the place is buzzing. The atmosphere is relaxed and most of the people living here were long term residents who studied in the neighborhood (mainly actors, directors, dancers etc). If you're expecting to meet tons of new people to do things with and party all the time, then this place might not be for you (at least in the off season ,can't speak for the peak season). On the other hand if you're looking for a good and cheap place to live along with a bunch of other nice people then I highly recommend you to consider staying at the Chateau. The location is not that bad, but don't expect to walk out the front door and be in the middle of all the action. Personally I didn't mind walking for 10 15 minuttes to and from the North Hollywood metro station. There's a police station right across the street, so you feel pretty safe safer than a lot of other places I can imagine.... more info >>

It's also a short walk to the Walk of Fame, the Hollywood & Highland shopping and entertainment complex, the Hollywood Bowl, and the Arclight theatre complex, 1 mile to the shops on Melrose Avenue, and 2.6 miles to the Grove/Farmer's Market, and 2.5 miles to WeHo central. Description:Location! Location! Location! I'm 1 1/2 miles from LACMA as well as Rodeo Drive. I'm 1 block outside of Beverly Hills. An easy walk to the Robertson Blvd. shopping district and the Paparazzi soaked Ivy and Kitson. It's 2 miles to The Grove and 2 miles to the heart of West Hollywood. I'm a 15 minute drive to the ocean and a 20 minute drive from LAX or to Downtown. The apartment is a large well appointed 3 bedroom upper duplex with old world, Mediterranean charm. The guest room has its own bath (sorry, tub, no shower). It has a comfortable, double bed with excellent bedding. There is available drawer and closet space and zippy WiFi. There is also a lovely back patio and front porch for enjoying our legendary L.A. weather and for smokers. (NO SMOKING INDOORS). There is central AC, a large working fireplace and laundry facilities. Must love dogs. There are 2 that are friendly and spend most of their time lying around. Despite the dogs, the apartment is super clean and smells delightful.
