Sa Cabana Vella's heavy wood doors, stone archways and grand entrance inspires the feeling of living in a castle. Situated on over 14000 square meters of land (>35000 m2 including surrounding fields), yet only minutes from both the beach and the center of town, Sa Cabana Vella offers the advantage of peaceful and beautiful surroundings, while providing the convenience of city and sea within a few minutes by car, foot, or bike. Rooms The first room is a spacious suite accommodating 2 people, completely private with ensuite private toilet and large shower. The second room (accommodating up to 2 adults or children of party occupying first room) does not have a private bath (must share bath with first room). Pool and large eat in kitchen are freely available to guests. Light breakfast is included, however daily full breakfast is available at additional charge. Both rooms feature large beds and desk workspace, large mirrors, heating, direct access to the terrace, US, UK and Australian power adapters, a variety of toiletries, and flat screen digital satellite TV with over 500 English, German, French and Spanish channels. Rooms are NOT available separately to different parties. Only one guest party may occupy both rooms. For parties of 2 or less, only the main suite it offered, for parties of 3 or 4, both rooms are available. History Originally built in the 1700's, Sa Cabana Vella was completely refurbished and expanded in 1929 and since March 2007, is continually being upgraded. New electrical, modern lighting, Satellite TV, Telephones, and high speed Internet have been installed, as well as new furnishings and decor. However, some Mallorquin furnishings remain to preserve its unique old world style. TransportationWe are located just 3Km from the largest public transport hub on this side of the island. Bus, train and taxis are available to take you virtually anywhere on the island.We do, however, strongly recommend hiring a car, since most attractions will be much easier to reach and enjoy if you have the convenience of your own transportation. Easy Access The new dual carriage motorway between Palma and Manacor shortens travel time to and from the Airport to about 35 Minutes (40km). A city train from Manacor (3km) offers low cost, fast transport to and from the center of Palma. Weather This valley offers premium weather conditions well into December, and a larger percentage of sun throughout the winter and spring, making Sa Cabana Vella a perfect getaway at any time of year. Between May and October, pure sunshine is the daily expectation. Daytime temperatures are between 25 40c (77F to 104F), and normally quite dry, lending to perfect beach weather. Evenings in summer are quite comfortable, usually between 20c to 30c (72F to 86F). Character Sa Cabana Vella offers a unique combination of the old world with modern comfort and convenience. We'd like to believe we offer a more sophisticated and individualistic alternative to the resort culture that Mallorca is known for, without being isolated. It's also a reflection of our own personality, and we hope that suits you! House rules Aside from the obvious no drugs, no other criminal activity, we do require copies of passports (we will manage this at time of arrival). Because the rooms are located within our home, we do appreciate your respect at late night or early morning hours. Feel free to stay up all night if you wish in warm season, the pool and terrace is delightful any time of day and you are free to use it. There are wet bars with music and television both on the terrace and by the pool. Parties may be held on the property, but only with prior approval. Smoking is permitted ONLY outside the house. There is absolutely NO smoking permitted inside the house. There are ashtrays at the bar on the terrace and pool area. Please use them. Pets are allowed ONLY with prior arrangement and exclusively at our discretion. The property is home to a number of species of wildlife including Peacocks, Cats, Rabbits, Chickens, Sheep, and Geckos. Authorised pets are welcome, and may freely roam the property as long as they do not present any danger to the local wildlife.
