The centre of the house is the large adjoining kitchen and dining room with fireplace. It opens up onto a small terrace which is furnished with a table and chairs for meals outside. A few steps away, across the courtyard, the pool is located in a charming part of the garden which one reaches by crossing the courtyard. The sandy beaches are at a distance of 14 km. Description of the location: From the distance, Marsiliana might look like a castle, but as you reach the top of the hill and drive through the gate it resembles an informal hamlet. The surrounding 2800 Ha property is comparable to a natural preserve where wild boars, porcupines, roebucks, tortoises, badgers and herons live in an undisturbed surrounding. A lesser known and therefore all the more captivating part of Tuscany, the Maremma extends along the southern Tuscan coast. As it moves away from the sea, the land slowly rises, shaping hills covered in olive groves, fields and woods. The hamlet of Marsiliana stands on top of the first small hill, only 14 kms from the sea. It is the centre of a property which consists mainly of woodland and mediterranean macchia. The views from the Castello della Marsiliana are marvelous, looking out onto the sea to one direction, onto olive groves, farstretching fields and rolling hills on the other. The Estate was originally 8000 Hectares, reduced to 3000 by state expropriation. Over 95% remains woodland, and of the remaining 150, just 18 hectares of the finest land has been transformed into vineyards by Duccio Corsini, since 1995. In 1759 the Corsini family brought agriculture to the previously malaria infested swamp that was the Maremma. Today it is the new frontier for Tuscan agriculture. Description:This property is part of an oasis of a 130 ha land located in the Southern region of Tuscany known as Maremma. This is a beautiful part of Tuscany, famous for the undiscovered wildness, its national parks and for the spectacular Mediterranean coastline with blue flag beaches stretching for as long as the eye can see. The owners of the estate decided to start an organic farm where the classic plants of the Tuscan Maremma spontaneously grow and are lovingly cultivated. They decided to maintain a sound rapport with the territory and therefore only 30 types of Mediterranean flora are cultivated. The farm has developed its own extracts and essential oils into a full line of natural cosmetics, food supplements and herbal teas. The pre-existing stone-built farmhouse has been renovated in total respect of the rural architecture of the area and is now a lovingly furnished eco-farm that reflects the owners' love for nature. Nevertheless it has been furnished in a very nice countryside style and equipped with all modern comforts including a high-speed internet connection not easy to find in that area. The accommodation is split in two parts. In the main one there are four bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom and its own exit onto the garden thus granting totally independence and privacy.
