Centrally located and walking distance to all major tourist attractions (Macys, Empire State Building, Meat Packing District, Chelsea Market, High Line Park, Chelsea Piers, Greenwich Village, NYU, Union Square, even Soho) Time Square is at 20 blocks or 2 subway stops. Central Park is at 35 blocks or 4 subway stops. You can experience it all! The apartment has wireless internet, cable and airconditioning. Bedroom with queen size bed. Sofa in the living room folds down into a bed for extra sleeping space. Good for two people. Nice clean bathroom. The apartment includes a full kitchen. Pots, pans, dishes, etc are included. Linens and towels are provided. Located on the main floor, facing the street. Absolutely no smoking or crazy parties! Chelsea is a great neighborhood. You will fully enjoy this NYC experience at this apartment. (website hidden) THE AREA: Chelsea, the area just below midtown west is home to many artists who escaped the higher rents in SoHo. Mostly a residential neighborhood -large gay community home of many art galleries and restaurants. The Chelsea Historic District runs from 9th to about 10th Ave between 20th and 21st street. Historic Cusman Row is an area of Preserved Greek Revival houses from the early 1800’s. These homes were built by a merchant Don Cushman.The Historic Chelsea Hotel can also be found in this area. Some of it's more famous residents: Mark Twain, Tenessee Wiliams and Bob Dylan. Also check out the Chelsea Piers, it's a hugh sports complex and shopping area on the west side. Many recreational activities to do for the entire family: Skating, Rock Climbing, Indoor Golf, Bowling, Children's Playgrounds, Health Club and Spa. Nearby Hudson River Park runs from 59th Street, through Chelsea, all the way down to the Battery and is a great place to Bike. The far west side of Chelsea—New York's premier contemporary-art district—was an edgy, semi-industrial patch before it was colonized by adventurous gallerists in the 1990s. Increasingly blue chip, it is now home to such high-profile spaces as Gagosian Gallery, Gladstone Gallery and Haunch of Venison. The development of the High Line has brought more visitors to the formerly desolate area. The verdant, elevated promenade commands great views of the surrounding architecture—a mix of industrial landmarks and gleaming new structures—and passes through the old loading dock of the former Nabisco factory, which now houses the eateries and shops of Chelsea Market. While the Chelsea gay scene has become commercialized and, to the younger set, passé, there are still some worthwhile watering holes, eateries and shops, and flea market aficionados can peruse vestiges of a sprawling hub for antiques and bric-a-brac.
