The island attractions feature a wonderful lighthouse and museum, several art galleries, coffee houses, restaurants, two general stores and gift shops. With a year round population of approximately 50 residents and no cars other than a few utility trucks used by residents, Monhegan thrives in spring, summer and autumn with a friendly community of artists, hikers, and visitors who wander the village and trails all by foot.
