Description:This exclusive property has an expansive view of the Pacific Ocean and the beaches of Santa Teresa to the North, with sunsets to die for. The house is custom furnished with beds, tables, chairs and closets in various tropical hardwoods. All units have large, high quality ceiling fans that keep the interiors cool year round. The water is heated by a solar system that automatically switches to electricity in the rare event that there isn't enough sun. All beds have top of the line mattresses and linens. Nothing artificial. The kitchen features high quality appliances and an espresso machine. Daily room & laundry service. The property has park like surroundings, with many unique trees and plants that are visited daily by many species of tropical birds and butterflies. Expect frequent visits by Howler and Capuchin monkeys. The beach is only walking minutes away. The famous surf spots of St. Teresa are only driving minutes away. Two major Costa Rican Banks, excellent restaurants, cafes, bakeries and shopping are all close by. Santa Teresa is known for its night life, while Malpaís, though only minutes away by car, is tranquil with little traffic. Various celebrities own vacation homes in the area. In the dry season, which lasts from December through the end of April, it is a relief to stay a bit up and away from the road, which is very dusty from the traffic. Aside from that, the sunsets over the Pacific are spectacular and different every day. A nearly constant gentle breeze assures that it is never stifling even during the hottest hours of the day. The pool offers refreshment during the day and late at night, when the surrounding air gets cooler, the stored energy of the sun makes makes the water just a bit warmer, so you never get the shivers. The second floor stone terraces are equipped with parasols and lounging chairs and coffee tables for refreshments and accessories, for relaxed sunbathing, romantic candlelight evenings or yoga. The third floor wood decks have lounging chairs and offer the most breathtaking vistas of the beaches to the north. All bathrooms have high end fixtures. Our septic system allows the disposal of tissue paper into the toilet. I 'm mentioning this, because 90% of the accommodations in Costa Rica do not and require disposal into a waste basket. Ick, yuck, belch, eeew, gross. All units feature custom made tropical hardwood furniture, handcrafted by a locally highly sought after furniture maker from Canada. Our quality ceiling fans keep the bedrooms pleasantly cool all day and night. The lower units have very large windows that allow for panoramic views The upper units have French doors that open out to the balconies, where you can sunbathe in privacy during the day and lounge at night in the balmy climate. All units are being cleaned daily and laundry service is available on request. The parklike surroundings delight with many exotic trees and plants. Depending on the season, there is mango, papaya, lemons, grapefruit and other fruit to be feasted on. Stonemasonry stairs lead down to the lower flat part of the estate. That's where two creeks meet and if you follow the one to the north, it will lead you to a waterfall surrounded by steep cliffs that, depending on the season can be a rivulet happily splashing into a small pool, or a torrents deluge of water that often carries tree trunks of various sizes in its wake.... more info >>

While we have DSL internet, we hope you will leave the modern world behind and enjoy the tranquility of nature and the incredible beauty.We are centrally located near Ojochal, the Terraba river mouth, Tortuga and Ventanas beaches and within a short drive to Uvita, Marino Ballena National Part to the North and Sierpe, and the new airport to the South. If you are looking for that very special, off-the–beaten-path, close enough but not in touristy Uvita, in the cooler hills, the Mango Tree is for you. This jewel of a location is perfectly situated, above the Coronado River, next to a small “Tico” Pueblo, and in the gorgeous foothills of the primary rainforest, with its natural sonorous ambiance and beauty. There is no highway noise, just the river.Ventanas, with its caves, is the closest and most favorite beach. These caves are accessibleo at low tide. Some of the best deep sea fishing, snorkeling, trips to Caño Island, the mangroves, whale and dolphin watching can be found in nearby Sierpe. We always recommend trips out of Sierpe that include all of the above for the same price for just one of these activities out of Uvita. The OSA Peninsula and Corcovado Park are best accessed from Sierpe as well. We are 40 minutes from Sierpe, and two hours from the amazingly beautiful mountains and coffee plantations of San Vito in Southern Costa Rica.Groceries and supplies are readily available in Coronado, to the north in Uvita or to the South (our favorite) in Palmar Norte at the fruit stand. The local Coronado pulperia (little market) offers a delivery service. Some walk to the store in the early morning for supplies. We grow our own pineapples, bananas, papayas and other exotic delicacies for your pleasure and our chickens supply us with fresh eggs daily.We can boast that very close by are some of the best restaurants in the whole country. There are three in nearby Ojochal: Citrus (incredible), Exotica (French)and Ilang Ilang (Indonesian). Besides these, there are two “tipico Tico” restaurants in Coronado (2.8 km), and two wonderful Tilapia farms in Punta Mala (Vergel 4 km) with excellent meals.What also makes this wonderful place so special is the Tico pueblo just below us. For a very reasonable price, you can enjoy a very private horseback ride to several amazing waterfalls, you can go on river/waterfall hikes, swim in the river pools or just mingle with the community. Some visitors have come and offered to teach English in the local school while others have sent college students to participate in the rural development of the community. We do all that we can to interact with the pueblo, to mingle and help them, and in return the interaction we have with them is very helpful and real. I have traveled all my life and I am always looking for that authentic, out of way, off the beaten path experience and location. Come to the Mango and experience a very real, TRANQUIL, personally catered and reasonably priced vacation.We are open to short rentals like a hotel or much longer rentals. Security is a feature we feel strongly about. There is always someone on the property, we lock our gate at night times, our dogs are amazing and guard the guests and our thick jungle foliage and hillside further protects us. The small terrace hold a hammock, table and chairs, as well as a large Guanacaste wood bench. nWithin a 2-minute walk, you will find a grocery store, an ice-cream parlour, internet cafes, surf shops, doctor, bank with ATM, bakery, clothing and souvenir stores.
