Description:Hi, and welcome to our flat! 'One price' for the 'Whole shebang!' which means no cleaning fee and no charges for extra people! GETTING THERE We are very near Paddington, perfect if you are coming via the Heathrow Express. If you are coming from Luton or Stansted you can get off at Marble Arch stop and you are also very close. Eurostar is 20 mins on the bus or tube. THE LOCATION The flat is located in London's Zone 1, which is London's centre. It's a 25 min walk to Oxford Street (shopping!) and Hyde park (several Olympics events!). Walk 15 mins in the other direction and you can take your picture on the crossing outside The Beatles famed Abbey Road studios. A stone's throw away are some very lovely neighbourhoods like Little Venice (a very beautiful stretch of the Canal) and Maida Vale. Hugh Grant's 'Notting Hill' is a short bus ride away. You could probably be at attractions like Sherlock Holmes' Baker Street in 15 mins or the lovely shopping in Marlybone. Edgware Road underground station is 8 mins walk away and has 4 of the London's best tube lines! There are also excellent buses very close by, and many night buses too. For the summer you can travel by Oyster bikes -VERY CHEAP, very fun, city bikes. There is an Oyster bike stand literally 2 mins from the apartment, a great way to travel across London! LOCAL ATTRACTIONS There are some great places nearby, including one of London's best coffee bars, The Borough Barista and Alfies Antiques which I think really rivals Potobello's and Camden's antiques. There are more local haunts and some of my insider's tips to London in my Guide. THE ACTUAL APARTMNET The place itself is a bright, airy, very clean and big for a London flat (56 square meters). If you are spending a night in, the kitchen table unfolds to seat 6 and you can entertain quite easily. The apartment is equipped with everything you need from shampoo to olive oil, hairdryer to iron, and of course the obvious stuff like Wifi, TV and fresh towels!! AND.. The is a fantastically cheap market 5 minutes away and on the same street is a Tesco's Metro (mid priced supermarket) Is there an ATM nearby? Yes. Maida Vale is a very nice area, quiet, safe & green with a feel of a neighborhood which is quite rare in London. It's a very convenient location with many buses at the doorstep going to the main attractions of London. Description:A beautifully furnished 2 bedroom flat near Westbourne Grove and the world famous Portobello Road with a garden. The flat has wireless access and is very close to 4 tube stations (Notting Hill gate, Queensway, Westbourne Park and Ladbroke Grove) and only a 10 minute walk to Hyde Park. Queensway has tons of shopping including Whitley's mall and Westbourne Grove is known for it's high end shops, cafe's and restaurants. Trendy stores, pubs and great dining abound and the flat is quiet and comfortable. There is a charming pub a few houses down from the flat and also a gorgeous church nearby as well. The master bedroom has a California King bed (rare for London) The guestroom has a double bed plus there is a double bed pull-out couch in the office area. The cozy fireplace burns coal and 'fake' wood. (Real wood is illegal in London) A modern kitchen and beautiful antique furnishings make this a very special flat! The flat comes with fine linens, fully stocked kitchen with pots, pans, etc. There is an ipod dock with brand new speakers and a new HD flat screen in the living room with full Sky package, movies etc. There are two and a half Bathrooms including one with a fabulous deep bathtub plus a separate shower, one with a wet room and a toilet on the ground floor. The garden area has a BBQ and table and chairs for enjoying the outdoors. The flat is one of only two in the entire building and the upstairs neighbors are friendly and quiet. If you are interested in the flat please read the house rules and additional information provided. P.S. in regards to my one not so shining review: I cancelled Amelia's reservation 20 days before her arrival because we had riots in London and my workmen refused to come to work during those weeks which delayed the improvements being done to the flat, not a normal occurrence and one I presumed would be treated with understanding, I do not cancel reservations lightly nor have I ever cancelled any one except for hers. We try to be flexible on check in and out but if someone is checking in the day you check out then we must have you leave in the morning so that we can have the flat cleaned, I hope you understand this is a necessary policy.
