In one of the two bedrooms, according to the wish occupants, two simple beds of 80 x 1.90, can be setting up, instead of a large double bed. Sheets are provided and the rooms ready for the arrival of the clients. A lovely and charming living room designed by a Parisian decorator, opens on a furnished kitchen area where you see the beautiful trees of the garden. The atmosphere is very friendly, warm and welcoming, with marble floor and beams on the ceiling. Table and chairs de Bistrot to take his meals in a refined dishes. Period furniture, original paintings of classical painters on the walls, a library and a beautiful fireplace, for evenings cosy on the corner of fire, in comfortable Club chairs. Description:The Garden of the Marais is a fully-furnished one bedroom apartment. It is 35 square meters with wooden ceiling beams in the bedroom, characteristic of Ancien Paris. Located in an historic Marais-style building, built in the 17th century, almost 400 years old ! The main bedroom features a double size bed for 2 guests, 2 side tables with antique lamps, decorative drapes, and plenty of closet space. The sofa in the main living area is also a comfortable double size sofa-bed to welcome two additional guests. Full linens are provided for both beds. For a mere fraction of the cost of a hotel room, you can live in comfort and privacy in our adorable 1-bedroom flat with open-plan living room/kitchen. The apartment, which sleeps up to 4 people, is located on a quiet street just one block from rue des Abbesses, rue Lepic (of Amélie Poulain fame!) and the Abbesses metro stop. Sacre Coeur and the Moulin Rouge are less than a 10-min walk away good transportation whisks you to the heart of Paris in under 20 minutes! A delightful, calm and airy 1-bedroom apartment of 25m2 (270 sq ft) with shower and kitchen, fully furnished with lots of light and equipped with everything you’ll need for your comfort and convenience. While we can’t offer you expansive views of the city monuments, we CAN offer you a fabulous location in one of the most picturesque and historic parts of Paris. When you meander through the winding cobble-stoned streets of Montmartre, you will feel like you are back in another time and place... yet you are only minutes from the bustling center of Paris! As you enter the apartment, you’ll find yourself in the spacious salon (living room) with open-plan (U.S.) kitchen. The kitchen includes a refrigerator, clothes washing machine, microwave/grill oven combo, coffee maker, tea pot, and all the necessary dishes and cookware. The breakfast bar provides two stools for dining, unless you prefer to dine at the coffee table. The salon contains a sofa-bed (queen-size) which sleeps two, and storage for your clothing. Three large windows provide you with lots of natural light and fresh air. We have recently added a TV/DVD with cable service, and free broadband Internet/WiFi is provided. We also provide a land-line phone with free local and international calls (to 150 countries). A small selection of books in both English and French is available, should you desire something to read. We also include an iPod/MP3 player with alarm clock-radio. Off the salon are two doors: one is for the WC/toilet (it is quite typical in France for the toilet to be located in a separate “closet” from the bathing facilities that’s simply how the French prefer it!), the other leads to the bedroom and shower room. The bedroom contains a comfortable queen-size bed (140x200cm), shelves for your odds and ends, and a small armoire. A double window provides a lovely view, so typical of Montmartre, of private courtyards and balconies as well as some green space. Located off the street at the back of the apartment, this room allows for a restful night’s sleep after a long day of sight-seeing! Just off the bedroom is the small but fully updated shower room with stall shower and sink a hairdryer is provided for your convenience. The apartment comes equipped with one set of fresh bed linens and towels for each guest (if you use additional linens or towels, a laundering fee of 30 euros will be requested a weekly cleaning service can also be arranged for an additional fee, for guests staying longer than one week). Although there is no air-conditioning, in warm weather we provide oscillating fans, and the double exposure generally provides good air flow through the apartment. Your host will be waiting for you* at the apartment at the agreed-upon arrival time, to provide you with the keys/door security code and to give you a tour of the apartment and amenities. When you arrive, you will find a complimentary bottle of wine, fruit juice, bottled water (although the city water is perfectly safe to drink!) and some light snacks waiting to welcome and refresh you after your journey. We can provide you with directions to a nearby supermarket or convenience store so you can stock up on anything else you need. (Just 2-3 minutes away at Place des Abbesses is a prize-winning boulangerie, and the rue Lepic market has many wonderful food shops.) *In the event we cannot greet you in person, we have a secure key safe and will provide you with all the information you need to access the apartment and settle in for your vacation. We live nearby and are only a phone call away in the event there is any difficulty and you need assistance. Although the apartment is quite comfortable for up to 4 adults, more than 4 people are not permitted we simply do not have the extra sleeping space. The apartment is not equipped for infants and very young children (no crib, no childproofing on windows or in the apartment) but older children are very welcome. There is no elevator, but the apartment is just one floor above the ground floor. (Please keep in mind that Montmartre is a very large hill and quite steep in spots, with cobblestones and uneven sidewalks. Also, our apartment's shower room is fully updated but a bit narrow. Larger guests or guests with mobility issues may want to keep these considerations in mind before booking.) We typically rent for terms from a minimum of 3 days to up to 3 months. In certain circumstances, we would consider a longer-term arrangement, so please feel free to inquire. This is a 100% non-smoking apartment. Neighborhood and prior to our purchasing this apartment for investment purposes, there was a 25-year old single woman living there for 18 months, and she also said she felt completely safe coming and going from the apartment no matter what the hour. The door to the building has a digital door code, and although there is no interphone or gardienne, the door to the apartment is a high-security steel door with 5-point deadbolt locks - the safest you can find. As this is a known tourist area, we only recommend that you practice good common-sense safety types in terms of guarding your purse, wallet and luggage when out and about, as pickpockets tend to go where the tourists do. Other than that, we feel quite confident when we say: this is a very safe area! RATES: We offer high and low season rates. Ideally place to visit Paris and the Paris region: - Very close Paris (5 minutes with RER D to go to the station “gare de Lyon” 10 minutes to go to the station “Chatelet- les Halles”, 15 minutes to go to the station “Gare du Nord”, or 15 minutes to go to the station “Bastille” with the tube (ligne 8). - But also very close to Eurodisney (40 minutes), or Bois de Vincennes (5 km). I propose my flat, you can lodge 6 persons (two privates bedrooms with doubles beds, and one sofa bed for two people in the lounge). The sofa opens out into a double bed. We have just finished laying down an oak wood floor in the living room. The kitchen is fully equipped including a dishwasher, gas stove, microwave, toaster and refrigerator. There are plenty of pots, pans, dishes and utensils supplied. There is grapevine growing outside the window. All the rooms have wall to wall windows on the garden. The beds are firm and there a good bedside reading lights. There are desks, shelves and storage space in each. The master bedroom is 27M2. The second bedroom is 19M2. The third bedroom is 9M2 and has a mezanine bed. The bathroom is very large and has a tub/shower, w/c. This is where you will find the washer and dryer. There is a second w/c. Bed linens and towels are provided. The bathroom has a good size shower, sink and the WC. The bedroom is large with a small desk at the side of the bed, and has 2 windows. The living room has the sofa bed, which measures slightly smaller than a double size bed (51 inches wide, vs. the standard 55 inches). Please take careful note of the picture of the upper mezzanine crawl space, while it has a large double size mattress, it is not meant for everyone. The access is via a sturdy wooden ladder (hook-on type) and it does have a wooden railing for protection, along most of the length of it. However, the access space (to crawl in and out) is reduced and only measures about 2 feet. So children and teenagers cannot be too young or old, to use it and sleep there, (we recommend from 8 to a max of 19 years old). It is considered the heart of the left bank, and will be your own private cobblestone walk-way, which is private gated and closes down at night from 23hrs to 07hrs (11PM to 7AM) but you will of course have the code to enter and go whenever you please. No cars out your windows, just pedestrians bustling about, taking in all the splendid shops on this uneven walkway, like the “Le Chocolat” restaurant just a few doors down, specializing in, well you guessed it - everything chocolate! This is such a central and great location with most everything just a couple of minutes walk outside your door! Crepes stand and restaurants, cafes, bakeries, ice-cream shops, and so much more for specialty dining pleasures! There is one full long wall of large widows, which are all double paned, for very good sound insulation. Remember the pedestrian way outside is private and closed down at night anyway, for minimal foot traffic. There is actually a second set of windows inside providing an additional ‘layer’ to insulate you from the outside, and providing extra privacy - see the photos. The apartment sleeps 4 adults or 2 adults/2 children comfortably but a third child can be accommodated if required.
