Description:*** LOCATION *** Our lovely little studio is ideally located for exploring Montmartre, just in front of the Moulin Rouge (view from the window on the Moulin Rouge and the Sacré-Cœur Basilique) and next to the “rue Lepic” (50 metres (164 ft) = less than 1 min walk): Van Gogh lived at number #54! The french hit-movie Amélie Poulain was shot in this neighborhood. The Sacré-Cœur, the place du Tertre and its painters, and several night clubs are at walking distance too. The area offers a wonderful choice of excellent restaurants. There is also a large and varied selection of food shops nearby: “rue Lepic”, “rue des Abbesses” or “rue Caulaincourt”. The subway station Blanche is at walking distance (50 metres) and will take you anywhere in Paris. Montmartre is a wonderful old village to explore on foot. If the hills of Montmartre get too much for you, Le Montmartrobus shuttle stop is a couple steps from the building (50 metres). *** AMENITIES *** The studio has been fully renovated. This Paris short term apartment is located a few minutes walk from the Beaubourg Pompidou Center, and from the Paris City Hall (Hotel de Ville) - very centrally located in the 3rd arrondissement or district of Paris (the Marais). The apartment is thus well positioned to enjoy many of important historic sights of Paris on foot. n nLocated on the 2nd floor (no elevator) of a typical small 18th century Parisian apartment building , the Beaubourg two bedroom offers high standards of comfort in a convenient and quiet central historic district for a reasonable nightly rate per person. n nThis Paris short term rental is located courtyard side of the building which means no street noise and the apartment has phonic insulation in the ceiling and walls to ensure minimal noise from surrounding apartments. The apartment looks out onto a small inner courtyard, so it is quiet but also note there are no views at all from this apartment. This is a plain basic older building (dates back to the early 1700's!) is well kept but not fancy. n nThe apartment, at 51 m2 (about 550 sq ft), is compact like most central apartments in Paris, but sufficiently large to accommodate 4 to 6 persons. The front door leads directly into the living/dining area which is a functional room with white walls and wooden flooring with area rugs. There is a sleeper sofa, coffee table, armchairs, small dining table and chairs, flat screen TV with cable (CNN, BBC channels in English) and DVD player with a selection of DVDs included in the apartment. Wireless high speed internet access is available. n nThe kitchen area is compact, new and looks directly onto the living-dining area. The kitchen includes a small fridge, stove top burners, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and cupboards with pots, pans and dishes for up to 6 persons. n nThe bathroom and the two bedrooms all have independent access to and from the living-dining room. The bathroom is spacious and has wooden flooring, a bathtub, a clothes washer/dryer combo unit and sink with vanity and toilet. See floor plan. n nThe bedrooms are off the living area and have a clean relaxing appeal: all in white with firm new bedding. One bedroom has a Queen bed along with a built in armoire for clothes and nightstand. The second bedroom includes two single beds and night stand and dresser. This allows up to four persons to sleep in the bedrooms as well as an additional sleeper sofa which can sleep two persons. n nNeighborhood: The Beaubourg apartment is within the historic central section of Paris: within 10 minutes on foot you are in the heart of the Marais (Picasso and Carnevalet Museums, Place des Vosges, and other major architectural attractions primarily from the 17th and 18th centuries). Also within walking distance is the Pompidou/Beaubourg Centre, Place de la Republique, and Les Halles and the Hotel de Ville (Paris City Hall). The nearest metro stops are Arts & Metriers, Rambuteau and Temple stations. n nThe Beaubourg apartment is located on a small street, thus there is very little traffic. The street is not 'fancy', but it is quaint, quiet, safe and includes traditional Parisian apartments as well as workshops, a small theater for plays is just down the street. n nJust one block away from the apartment is the Arts & Metiers Museum (see photo of Museum on left, it is in an old church/priory), which houses the collection of the Conservatoire National des Arts et Metiers, founded in 1794 as a depository for the preservation of scientific instruments and inventions. The museum is housed in the priory of Saint-Martin-des-Champs and includes over 40,000 objects at the Paris site, including older cars and airplanes and an original version of the Foucault pendulum. n nThe Beaubourg, just 3 blocks from the apartment, is a major cultural and educational complex primarily housed in and around the Pompidou Center. The complex includes a theater, library, the Modern Art Museum (the main Modern Art Museum in France, and one of the largest in Europe) and a center for music research. The Pompidou center receives over 6 million visitors every year. n nNear to the apartment are many restaurants, cafes and shops. There is a decorative fireplace with 16th century mirror, an antique armchair, an antique wardrobe, a desk and chair and a piano - which you are welcome to play. nThe second bedroom (17ft x 13fr, 5.2m x 4.0m) has a large double bed (5ft6, 1.7m wide), 2 bedside tables and reading lamps, an oriental chair and ample cupboard space. nThe third bedroom (17ft x 9ft10, 5.2m x 3.0m) has a single tier bunk bed with a integrated desk - ideal for a child or teenager. There is also a comfortable butterfly chair, shelving and a reading lamp. nThe second and third bedroom and also the kitchen benefit from views onto a calm private garden. nThe bathroom has a small bathtub, a handheld overhead shower and a wash basin.
