Description:1800's island boathouse on Casco Bay converted to a charming cottage. At high tide, the ocean surrounds the house on three sides as the tide recedes, a white sandy beach re-appears. Sunsets abound from the deck seabirds entertain from the sky and beach. Walk, bike, boat or drive to spectacular views from every angle while exploring the island. There are three restaurants, a cafe, and a well stocked grocery store. A short 20 minute ferry ride to Portland, 'the foodiest small city in America', provides numerous dining, shopping, and entertainment options. On-island bike rentals are available at Brads Recycled Bike Shop. Maine Island Kayak, one of the top kayaking outfitters in the country, is headquartered on the island, providing instruction, trips, and kayak sales. Description:Location The cottage is located on the back shore of Peaks Island in a very quiet neighborhood at the end of a dead-end road. The house sits high above the sea, about 100 yards through the woods from the rocky shore of Josiahs Cove. Though the cottage is not on the waterfront, from the porch you can see the ocean sparkling through the trees, and a short steep walk down through what our children dubbed The Magic Woods brings you to the back yard of our other cottage and access to the rocks from which I have caught stripers.... more info >>

Description:The Memorial Hall is a historic landmark, a unique architectural structure and on the National Register of Historic Places that was opened in 1891. It is located on the beautifully rugged and scenic Atlantic shore of Peaks Island in Casco Bay. Take a short ferry ride from downtown Portland, Maine and step into history. n nThe Memorial is a licensed lodge with 14 rooms available for overnight guests that can accommodate parties of up to 50 people.
