Description:The cottage is not in San Francisco but is 30 minutes from San Fransisco in Point Richmond in the East Bay. In general, it is a very convenient location. Please see if it is convenient for your plans before contacting us. If you're not sure, please ask about it. Also, note that the The Annex cottage has a one month minimum stay requirement. We have traveled extensively and collected our favorite ideas for making The Annex a cozy and convenient home away from home. This furnished one bedroom cottage in Point Richmond is set back from the street with a native plant garden between it and the sidewalk. Enjoy the afternoon on the patio in the shade of the oak tree or on the porch in the sun. Enter and there are skylights, tile floors and high ceilings. There is a computer alcove with high speed internet. Utilities are included. However, in addition, there are applicable taxes and a refundable security deposit. For your information, we no longer accept pets. And of course, there's no smoking allowed on or near the premises.If you are interested in a studio for a shorter time, please ask about it.Within short walking distance are all the necessary services such as restaurants and cafes, grocery stores, post office, library, etc. The Natatorium (aka The Plunge ) is newly restored to its 1920's grandeur and open for swimming! Walk up the hill and see the bay with a three- bridge view encompassing Berkeley, San Francisco and Marin. Point Richmond has its own downtown complete with special activities that are advertised in store windows and sandwich boards. Farmers Market from May through October!This unique village in the East Bay is convenient to Berkeley, Oakland, Orinda, Vallejo, the wine country, Marin County, and San Francisco. It is the community closest to Chevron and Vertigo Software. Pixar, Bayer, and Industrial Light and Magic are near, too. Accessible hospitals are Kaiser, Doctor's, Alta Bates and Children's. Schools of higher learning such as Contra Costa College, UC Berkeley, and Dominican University are with a 20 minute drive. Travis Air Force Base and Coast Guard stations are in the vicinity. All rooms have double French doors letting in light and providing lovely views of the grounds. There are hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room/bar and hall. Wood burning stove in the living room provides warmth during the winter months (there is also central heating). The living room has a wet bar with blender and ice bucket, television with surround sound, HBO, DVD player, and full stereo system. The bright large kitchen has everything you need to prepare great meals -- gas range, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster oven, cookware, spices and dishwasher. Large back bedroom has tile floors providing a cool room to rest during the day. This bedroom has a piano, desk/computer work area, free wifi, satellite TV and queen bed. Front bedroom has a double bed, large closet and opens up to the deck and 6-person hot tub. The deck has comfortable seating for many people, redwood picnic table and gas barbeque with rotisserie. There is a stone patio with fire pit to enjoy the cool evenings and starry nights. A fairy grove of redwoods with terra cotta tile floors provides a cool place to sit during the hot afternoons. Four bicycles and two kayaks are provided for your outdoor enjoyment. Beach chairs, inflatable toys, mats and umbrellas are provided for trips to the beach. Children’s toys and board games are available for everyone’s use. Explore the Sonoma wine country, kayak or canoe the Russian River, hike the trails at Armstrong Woods Redwood State Park, or discover the tide pools of the coast, all just a short drive away from Mays Canyon. Walk or ride bikes to the quaint town of Guerneville and enjoy restaurants, coffeehouses, shops, bars, live theatre, and supermarket. Spend the day lazing on the River and retreat to Mays Canyon, sipping wine you just bought at one of the many wineries within 10 minutes of your front door. Ride bikes and do a lazy wine tour up Westside Road. Hop in your car and visit Occidental. Buy incredible bread in Freestone. Check out the art galleries in Bodega. Go birding at Shollenberger Wetlands in Petaluma. Go horseback riding on some of the best trail horses in Armstrong Woods State Park. No smoking. No pets. 4 NIGHT MINIMUM with 2 nights considered the week prior to arrival and in the winter.
