Description:This Coastal Chalet Home is 5 years old and has all the amenities you will need. It has a loft with a queen bed which looks over the great room / kitchen. The master bedroom has a queen bed and has a private entrance that goes out to a wood fired sauna and the woods. The other bedroom has a full size bed and overlooks the back 4 acres. The great room / kitchen has a full island where everyone can gather and a full kitchen to use: 5 burner gas stove, microwave, fridge-freezer combo with ice maker and many other appliances. The great room comes equipped with ps3 / dvd player, dish network, 40 flat screen tv and wireless internet throughout. Outside you can enjoy a deck with patio table, umbrella and a Weber gas fired grill. Soon to come is another deck out back off the master bedroom with outside shower (complete by June). The bathroom has a separate shower (two shower heads) and tub (extra 2 depth). Outside you can enjoy a wood fired sauna (dry only), 4 acres to wander on, organic gardens, lawn space, and peaceful birds singing. The driveway is large so if you are traveling with a boat there is plenty of space to park and pull in. The house is located 7 miles (15 minutes' drive) from Blue Hill where you will find everything from fine dining restaurants to bar and grill settings, art galleries, cute shops and stores, and about an hour's drive from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. What's great about this location is you are only about 2 miles from the public boat launch that leads you directly to Eggemoggin Reach where you can kayak, boat, swim or just wander along the beaches. Within a twelve mile radius there are tons of spectacular views and places to discover. Other small surrounding towns Deer Isle, Stonington, Brooklin, Cape Rosier (Holbrook Island Sanctuary), Brooksville, Sargentville and Castine. The house is perched atop a daylight basement where I have a small bakery business. The plus is everyday I bake, Wed-Sat there will be fresh baked goodies delivered in the morning for you to enjoy. Also share a full bath with tub and shower downstairs. Surrounded by 100's of acres of mature forest. Enjoy our sandy swimming beach right off the large screened in porch to the east. High speed internet, no cable TV access. Description:A cozy cabin in the woods on the shore of a pristine lake, for a perfect get-away. Relax and enjoy sunsets across the water from the deck, surrounded by forest silence, punctuated by loons calling and bald eagles diving for fish. nExcellent fresh water swimming, boating and fishing, kayaks and canoes available for rent at The Activity Shop in Blue Hill. Sandy beach for playing and relaxing. n nLedge Lodge cabin is nestled in woods on the shoreline of Walker Pond at the foot of Caterpillar Hill. The mile long gravel drive from Route 15 down to the lake offers the visitor opportunity to see deer, wild turkey and black bear. The natural beauty of the area has attracted many artists, whose studios and galleries are open to visitors. The historic fishing and granite quarrying town of Stonington on Deer Isle is about a forty minute drive south on Route 15. Fresh fish and lobster can be purchased daily from the lobster pound on the wharf. The mail boat takes passengers on daily trips to Isle au Haut. There is a granite museum and several waterfront restaurants in Stonington. n nFarmers Open Air Markets thrive in the summer months, bursting with fresh organic produce picked on the farm the same morning. Brooksville Farmers Market is the closest, about a ten minute drive to Bucks Harbor, which also boasts the closest restaurant, Buck 's. If you 've forgotten anything from your grocery shopping at Trade Winds in Blue Hill, The Eggemoggin General Store is handy at just a ten minute drive south on Route 15. They also sell fishing licenses. n nAcadia National Park, Mt. Desert Island and Cadillac Mountain, all popular tourist destinations, are about hour 's drive away. There you can hire bicycles, take whale watching boats, explore coastal villages, or enjoy the many shops and restaurants in town. Ledge Lodge is about 11/2 hours from Bangor/Brewer airport. n nLedge Lodge has a large, well equipped kitchen with electric stove, refrigerator, wood-pellet stove, washing machine, tumble drier, storage space and cupboards. Bathroom has a shower stall, hand basin and w.c. A dining table is situated between the kitchen and living room, which has a sofa bed, two comfy chairs, a TV and dvd player, and a stone fireplace. Off the living room the bedroom has twin beds and a desk, chest of drawers, and bedside tables. Water is supplied by a well on the property. There is a built-in closet off the living room. The house sits on a rise on the Reach Road with views to the Sedgwick town landing and Eggemoggin Reach beyond. n tThere are five bedrooms (four with fireplaces), 2 and 1/2 baths, a fully equipped kitchen, dining room with a fireplace and brick oven, T.V room and parlor both with fireplaces, and a fully equipped laundry. The home has been fully refurbished and updated but not so much as to lose its sense of history. It is filled with comfortable antiques and rustic elegance. n tThe landscaping of Blue Poppy is extensive. The lawn encompasses perennial flower and herb beds, raised vegetable beds, a small pond, and a croquet/volleyball court. There is also a self guided nature trail that is a botanical tour through the forest and wetlands to the wild blueberry field beyond.
