Description:Luca’s House is an old country small-holding dating back to the 19th century. Built entirely in stone it has been renovated respecting the typical architectural characteristics of the area blended with touches of artistic masonry. The result is a small ‘village’ whose rustic hospitality has grown over the years so that an ‘agriturismo’ or farmhouse accommodation ,for 6 person, has been created. Two apartments are also available for long or short stays for 7-8 people .The surrounding area Located in the area where the Maremma and the Val D’Orcia Nature Park meet, Mount Amiata is an ancient volcano (1774 m.) with an abundance of underground thermal waters. People can ski at the top of the mountain whose slopes reach down to the outskirts of the Argento coast. Skiing: the ski slopes are about 10 minutes by car from the farm. In winter there are several kilometers of slopes equipped with two chair lifts and ski lifts. The closest thermal bath (20 minutes by car) is at San Filippo in the area there are thermal baths at Bagni Vignone or San Casciano up to those at Petriolo and Saturnia. Mount Amiata has always been a crossroads of intense spiritual activity thanks to its churches and to the Via Francigena which flanks it in the north. At the beginning of the 19th century it witnessed the rise of David Lazzaretti’s social-Christian community on Mount Labro. At the moment it is home to Merigar, the seat of the Dzogchen Community, one of the biggest Tibetan Buddhist centres in Italy whose monuments attract tourists from all over the world every year. Description:Since 1998 our family grows our land by organic agriculture. Our farm consisting of ten hectars of: olive groves, orchard, kitchen garden, pasture and wood lands. The farmhouse is inside in no hunting zone, of very naturalistic importance, rich of wildflowers and wildlife: hares, pheasants, roes, wild boars and many kind of birds. From the house, by paths in the fields, on arrive to Badia di Morrona, ancient monastery of Camaldoli's Friars (XI century). Valleantica is far 12 km. from the thermae of Casciana Terme, is situated in the famous landscape of Tuscan hills, and it is an excellent point of departure to arrive to the most interesting places in Tuscany:Firenze e Siena a 80 km., San Gimignano 50, Pisa e Lucca 40, Volterra 25, Livorno and Thirrenian Coast 30. The farmhouse is divided into two floors: the upper one occuped by the family, the ground floor dedicated to our guests. It is a flat of 70 mq., free from architectural barriers, open all the year. It consists of a large kitchen-stay with fireplace, two double rooms, four beds, large bathroom, wide outer space with pergola. Around the house covers an acre of land fenced in which we created a garden, an olive grove that produces an excellent extra virgin, strictly organic garden and a grove of tall trees. So we can enjoy tomatoes, chard, zucchini, salads of various kinds, peas, beans, broccoli and cauliflower, grapes, strawberries, depending on the season. We also collect from our belowed trees plums, peaches, apricots, apples and walnuts. The tranquil location is a heaven of peace and quiet while at the same time being very close to all amenities offered by the busy market town of Marsciano. The house is located about 12 km from the main road through the centre of Umbria linking Assisi (30 minutes), Perugia (20 minutes), Orvieto (40 minutes), Todi (15 minutes) and Spoleto (50 minutes). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ FURTHER DETAILS Normally guests are welcome no earlier than 15 and check out is at 11 o'clock. A welcome pack of wine, water,milk, home made bread and oil extra virgin home produced is provided and the kitchen is supplied with basics such as tea, coffee, sugar etc. We can offer guests some extras that they not find elsewhere such as home cooked meals on arrival or during their stay. In the apartment there is internet access. Just tell us what you would like and we will do our best to provide it ,but first you must arrive... - Accessibility The apartment is on the groundfloor and is suitable for people with mobility problems but not suitable for wheelchairs. - Outside The swimming- pool (12 x 4 meters) is shared with us when we are present and is opened from early May until late September. The Perugia Golf Club is located just 6 km from the center of the Etruscan city of Perugia. The field is a gently undulating par 72, the core of which dates from the late fifties. Our villa is what you are looking for.Located in one of the most beautiful tuscan landscapes, it is an enchantingly renovated old country house set on the hillside near the little town of Palaia (Pisa) and surrounded by a marvellous natural fresco where flowers, olives and vineyards are some of the main subjects. The accommodation is completely furnished in a rustic way, with traditional floors and nice wooden beam-ceilings. On the ground floor you can find the kitchen/dining room complete with oven, big wooden dining table, a large hob, freezer and fridge. The sitting room, where you can relax by the fire on two comfortable sofas and listen to some good music, is carefully furnished and communicates with the dining room. The bathroom is also on the ground floor and has a roomy shower, basin, w.c. and bidet. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, the first one with a double bed (or twin beds), excellent wardrobe and TV and the second with a double bed (or twin beds), TV and DVD as well. Every little detail has been chosen with much care and interest. From our property guests may reach every interesting historical city or important seaside resorts in more or less one hour. The estate, completely isolated from noise and pollution of towns, is ideal for those who look for relax and privacy. The apartment has been created to accommodate 2 people and is particularly suitable for couples, spouses or a couple of friends who have a car and want to do a tour of Tuscany. It represents also an excellent solution for a family with one young son for this solution the living room is provided with a sofa bed. The apartment is approx. 70 square meters and consists of: a large living room that includes a typical Tuscan kitchen with stove, refrigerator and dishwasher, table and chairs, traditional fireplace, a sofa and a TV, one bedroom with a double bed in wrought iron and a private bathroom with shower, sink and toilet and a washmachine. The interiors and furnishings are Tuscan style. Most of the objects and furnishings are from the family. The price is very actractive.
