Built entirely in stone it has been renovated respecting the typical architectural characteristics of the area blended with touches of artistic masonry. Two apartments are also available for long or short stays for 7-8 people .The surrounding area Located in the area where the Maremma and the Val D’Orcia Nature Park meet, Mount Amiata is an ancient volcano (1774 m.) with an abundance of underground thermal waters. People can ski at the top of the mountain whose slopes reach down to the outskirts of the Argento coast. Skiing: the ski slopes are about 10 minutes by car from the farm. In winter there are several kilometers of slopes equipped with two chair lifts and ski lifts. The closest thermal bath (20 minutes by car) is at San Filippo in the area there are thermal baths at Bagni Vignone or San Casciano up to those at Petriolo and Saturnia. Mount Amiata has always been a crossroads of intense spiritual activity thanks to its churches and to the Via Francigena which flanks it in the north. At the beginning of the 19th century it witnessed the rise of David Lazzaretti’s social-Christian community on Mount Labro. Description:Since 1998 our family grows our land by organic agriculture. Our farm consisting of ten hectars of: olive groves, orchard, kitchen garden, pasture and wood lands. The farmhouse is inside in no hunting zone, of very naturalistic importance, rich of wildflowers and wildlife: hares, pheasants, roes, wild boars and many kind of birds. From the house, by paths in the fields, on arrive to Badia di Morrona, ancient monastery of Camaldoli's Friars (XI century). Valleantica is far 12 km. from the thermae of Casciana Terme, is situated in the famous landscape of Tuscan hills, and it is an excellent point of departure to arrive to the most interesting places in Tuscany:Firenze e Siena a 80 km., San Gimignano 50, Pisa e Lucca 40, Volterra 25, Livorno and Thirrenian Coast 30. The farmhouse is divided into two floors: the upper one occuped by the family, the ground floor dedicated to our guests. It is a flat of 70 mq., free from architectural barriers, open all the year. Description:Comignano country-house Comignano country house was in ‘800 and in ‘900 a wonderful agricultural farm that produced fruits for the whole Mugello valley. It was built, in late 1700, with a functional project: to build it at the bottom of a natural basin. The reason for this was to let carts, loaded with agricultural products, reach the house going downhill, with less effort for men and animals. The farm building, following customs of the period, was started after a meticulous watching of the place by masons who were used to choosing the best place to build, through careful thought, after having slept there some nights in winter and summer. Territorial plentiful waters are free from any contamination and reach the country house by a spring and an artesian well. The water coming from the well has beneficial diuretic effects, coming directly from the taps to drink. Following farmer’s customs, there is also a rainwater harvesting of 20.000 liters. In uncultivated areas you can find, amidst the natural vegetation, ancient fruit trees that bear record to times when those places were intensively cultivated. You can find them along the stream Lora that marks the boundary of what remains of a big farm that in the beginning of 1900 extended for hundreds of hectares. During the second half of 1900, the abandonment of agricultural work towards industry, led to the degradation of this agricultural land. At the end of the second world war, in 1943 the house was blasted leaving intact the only loft that has now been recovered and restructured. The blasted house was rebuilt in the same place but with a new and different shape and in the ’50s lodged a rural school in part of it. It has been lived in by farmers until 1980 and then put on sale in the ’90s when we bought it. The abandonment of agriculture and the consequent absence of chemical treatments, has helped the preservation of rich and full fauna environment, as much as the presence of insects that are their food source. Now we use part of the arable land as orchard, part as kitchen garden, but the most part is left on loan to the neighbouring sheep breeding (that you can also reach afoot, pictures on the slide show) where you can buy very good cheese and fresh ricotta, made by sheep’s milk grazing under your eyes.... more info >>

Around the house covers an acre of land fenced in which we created a garden, an olive grove that produces an excellent extra virgin, strictly organic garden and a grove of tall trees. So we can enjoy tomatoes, chard, zucchini, salads of various kinds, peas, beans, broccoli and cauliflower, grapes, strawberries, depending on the season. We also collect from our belowed trees plums, peaches, apricots, apples and walnuts. The tranquil location is a heaven of peace and quiet while at the same time being very close to all amenities offered by the busy market town of Marsciano. The house is located about 12 km from the main road through the centre of Umbria linking Assisi (30 minutes), Perugia (20 minutes), Orvieto (40 minutes), Todi (15 minutes) and Spoleto (50 minutes). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ FURTHER DETAILS Normally guests are welcome no earlier than 15 and check out is at 11 o'clock. Horse trekking and riding can be organized upon request at a riding school renowned for its highly-qualified trainers situated near the farm. Mountain bikes rental is also available. All the flats are equipped with independent central heating thus being available all year round. The apartment Mignon is a small apartment. Our villa is what you are looking for.Located in one of the most beautiful tuscan landscapes, it is an enchantingly renovated old country house set on the hillside near the little town of Palaia (Pisa) and surrounded by a marvellous natural fresco where flowers, olives and vineyards are some of the main subjects. The accommodation is completely furnished in a rustic way, with traditional floors and nice wooden beam-ceilings. On the ground floor you can find the kitchen/dining room complete with oven, big wooden dining table, a large hob, freezer and fridge. The sitting room, where you can relax by the fire on two comfortable sofas and listen to some good music, is carefully furnished and communicates with the dining room. The bathroom is also on the ground floor and has a roomy shower, basin, w.c. and bidet. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, the first one with a double bed (or twin beds), excellent wardrobe and TV and the second with a double bed (or twin beds), TV and DVD as well. Every little detail has been chosen with much care and interest. From our property guests may reach every interesting historical city or important seaside resorts in more or less one hour. The estate, completely isolated from noise and pollution of towns, is ideal for those who look for relax and privacy.
