Description:My apartment is on the first Floor of the rear house. It is quite bright and has a cool, open floor plan. It has an open kitchen with access to the spacious living room and separate bedroom. I've built my own bed, which sleeps 2 people. The living room has a changable seating arrangement which can serve as an extra bed for another 2 guests. So total, more than enough room for 4 people. Almost the entire furnishings are artist made or consists of original and unique pieces. WIFI Internet available for free. I also have a stereo system which can be connected to your ipod if you want to listen to music. I am also offering 2 bikes free for you to use. One mens and one women bike. See pictures. The Schillerkiez is named to be Berlin´s new hot spot at the former Tempelhof airfield which currently serves as a recreational area. Kiteboarding, skating, rollerblading and a lot more of ohter sport activities are found here. Lots of new bars, cafes and galleries close by. Kreuzberg and Mitte is just a few stops with the U 8 line which stops 5 min away at Boddinstr. Alexanderplatz are easy 15 min, and Kottbusser Tor merly 7min on the train. Description:PLEASE HAVE A VERIFIED PROFILE SET UP, AND READ THE AMENITIES AND HOUSE RULES BEFORE SENDING A RESERVATION REQUEST. I'd love to know a little about you, your traveling companion, and your trip first, so that I can make you as comfortable as possible during your stay. My little home in the historic Villa Riviera, is a comfortable and immaculate studio condo on the 15th floor, that was originally part of a large penthouse apartment. The building has an amazing history. It was once owned by the silent screen star Norma Talmadge and her producer husband, and was home to many celebrities. Located right on the beach, you will have a three mile path for cycling and rollerblading right in your own back yard. Beach cruisers and surreys are for rent nearby. Long Beach is very bike friendly, and has plenty of dedicated bike lanes, and even a nearby bike station. Joggers and walkers will also appreciate the bike path, although I highly recommend walking barefoot along the water. If you're looking for a Mc Mansion this is probably not for you. If you crave something different with a creative vibe, you have hit the jackpot. Although only 264 sq. ft., there's plenty of room to get comfortable thanks to a few multi-tasking pieces of furniture. The coffee table has a lift top and can be used for dining or desk work. This, and the storage ottoman both have wheels so they can be easily rearranged to suit your needs . Yoga anyone? Some of these photos were taken with the futon bed down. If you want more floor space it can be easily converted back to a sofa. There is also a lay-z-boy recliner that rocks AND swivels so you can twirl around and gaze at the gargoyles and fabulous city views - and don't forget the sunsets. The one fanny kitchen is tiny, but fully functional and well equipped with a separate pantry. It has a farmhouse sink, filtered water, 2 drawer refrigerator, freezer, microwave/convection combo oven, and ceramic cooktop. Sorry no dishwasher, but there is a dying rack over the sink and an under-counter tub/drawer to keep dirty dishes out of the way until you get to them. Although the bath tub is smaller than average, it is perfectly adequate for showering and you can't beat the view. The walk-in closet has plenty of room for you to stash your belongings out of the way during your stay, and don't be afraid to shop - there's plenty of shelf space for your souvenirs. Important disclaimer: Please note that the alcove referred to as the laundry room is so called because there is a washing machine shaped hamper tucked away inside. Real live coin operated washers and dryers live in the community laundry room downstairs. Wireless internet is available if you have a laptop that can receive a wireless signal. I also have basic cable for the small HDTV. The community sun deck is available for bar-b-cueing and socializing. The shuttle to all local attractions stops right across the street, but you will find plenty to do within walking distance. There's always something going on nearby - a cook-off, parade, fireworks, race, festival, concert, art walk, even free movies on the beach behind the building during the summer. This is a perfect base just relaxing, or visiting L.A., Disneyland, and all Southern California beaches and attractions. It's centrally located, with very easy access to transportation. With the boat terminals so close by, you can cruise to Catalina Island and the Mexican Riviera, or go on a whale watching expedition. From the nearby transit center, you can bus, or take the light rail to Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, the Getty Museum, and Universal Studios. City bus #232 will get you to and from LAX. I have been car-free for several years and have done just fine here. I should also mention that I am within walking distance of the Convention Center and the trendy bars and restaurants on Pine Avenue (although you can also take the free shuttle that goes right past here). Although there are plenty of car rentals near by, please note that the only available parking is $200 a month, and at this time I am not able to get you a daily or weekly parking rate. Hopefully this will change in the future, as I am still researching to find a more economical parking alternative. The $85 per night includes the 12% bed tax and listing fee that I am required to pay, but not parking. You'll have a Keurig coffee brewer with a large selection of flavors, and fresh bagels, so don't worry about trying to find a Starbucks first thing in the morning. Feel free to use the well equipped kitchen, and help yourself to anything in the pantry and fridge. You'll have a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, printer and scanner at your disposal, and if you have any other needs just ask. And of course there will be soap, shampoo, and plenty of fresh towels waiting for you. I will be leaving a welcome basket with helpful tips to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
