They were welcoming, friendly and helpful, giving us much advice on where to go and how to get there, providing us with maps and addresses which we could just key into our GPS. This is a good location for getting into Washington, we parked at Silver Springs then took the Metro to Union Station. However we also drove into Washinton and and managed to park near Central Station.Eileen welcomed us each morning with a delicious healthy homecooked breakfast. Would definately recommend this venue to others. Thank you, and we did get back to the UK safe and sound, but rather tired! Elaine and Ray. Sept 10, 2009 Scott and I had the most wonderful stay with Mike and Eileen. They are fantastic people with such great willingness to help and make sure we were comfortable and able to get around the city in the most convenient ways. They are also dog lovers which is a huge plus in our book :). With this being our first visit to the DC area, Mike and Eileen were so helpful with sharing their ideas on things to do in and around the city. We were so impressed with their hospitality and wonderful cooking! The room in which we stayed and their home is extremely nice and comfortable. The location is great as it is outside the hustle and bustle of the downtown area and is conveniently located by a bus stop which takes you to the metro station if you do not have a vehicle. If and when we have the opportunity to visit DC again, we would love to have the opportunity to stay with the Beard's again! Thanks so much Mike and Eileen! Sept 13, 2009 Staying with Mike and Eileen was an amazing experience. The room was everything they said it would be, and the hospitality they showed could not have been better. They were very helpful and informative and they made an excellent breakfast every morning. These two are the model for all other BnB hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent in the Country View room at Mike and Eileen's. They are both gracious and helpful hosts, the perfect combination of allowing us privacy and willingness to be at service, and Eileen is a fantastic cook to boot! The room is very clean, the breakfast is amazing (love that granola and those pancakes thanks for watching out for my allergies Eileen) and we could get in and out without a hassle. The rides to the station made life easier and all around we are sure we would stay again next time we are in DC. Couldn't fault the stay and it was far better than any hotel for sure! The room, home and setting are wonderful. The neighborhood is a beautiful area for walking and relaxing. The breakfasts were excellent, with a creative flair each morning. Mike and Eileen's place was perfect. Just a few minutes from the metro in nice part of Maryland. The breakfast was wonderful, fresh fruit, quiche and hot tea were our favorite. Their hospitality and good communication from the beginning was helpful, especially because my wife was 6 months pregnant. The neighborhood was quiet, safe and beautiful. We strongly recommend Mike & Eileen's to everyone! Mike and Eileen are gracious and generous hosts. In their beautiful home, our room was spacious and spotless. We had every amenity we needed. The entrance to our room and the bathroom next door was very private as it is situated at the end of a hallway. That extra bit of privacy made our stay even more relaxing. Eileen's breakfasts were excellent. We had an egg casserole or quiche every morning, plus, fresh bread or muffins and bagels, with all the trimmings. We are fairly sure that this experience with Mike and Eileen will spoil us forever as we will use our stay with them as a yardstick with which to judge all future visits. I've traveled all over the world and met many people, and these guys are amongst the most decent and genuine people I had the pleasure of encountering, I'd recommend them to anyone. I've have had nothing positive experiences with, but this stay was far and away my best experience. Their attention to detail, their set up, and their service oriented personal touch was great, and it was akin to a true bed and breakfast experience. Greenacres room is located is the basement which has huge family room including sofa, work out and running machine, fireplace. VERY CLEAN! Eillen made a full breakfast even very early in the morning even if I had to leave early. Her dishes were delicious, it was so home made! I will recommend my friends as well with no doubt! Thanks for the great hospitality, Michael and Eileen! Sung two thumbs up!!! Me, Steve and his daughter stayed Greenacres room for 6 days, huge space for 3 of us.
