Cheri Amour is the only place in the United States where you can tour the home where The Doors lead singer and rock legend Jim Morrison lived! He lived there with girlfriend Pamela Courson from 1970-1971, and that is where he was residing when he visited Paris... and never returned. He reportedly died in 1971. Or did he? Owner and Hollywood celebrity (full name hidden) has been interviewed on numerous TV and radio shows, and claims that the famous rock legend faked his death and that she has been in touch with him. Psychics who have stayed there have reported sightings of him inside his apartment. Strange happenings occurred during the filming of a seance involving world renowned psychics for an International TV show. You will learn about the history of the building and discover anecdotes about when Jim lived there, along with stories of other famous rock 'n rollers who visited the building. This 2nd story apartment has been lovingly keep it in its original condition, restored to reflect the life and times of Jim and Pam in the early 70′s and furnished in a style appropriate to that period to look like when they lived there, in order to keep their memory alive. MEMORABILIA ITEMS: We have several authentic memorabilia items from Jim's apartment and the building for sale, some you can take home with you and larger items that will need to be shipped. Items include but are not limited to, ziplock baggies of dirt from the property, Multi-color Mexican tiles, red tiles, and tile chips from the staircase, window screens, and many other items. The location each item originated from is logged in. All items come with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the owner. Owner/management reserves the right to refuse or terminate lodging in the event guest(s) become disruptive, unruly, problematic, demanding, violent or threatening to others. Description:We have beautiful 1 bedroom flat in posh Nob Hill (2 blocks above Union Square) with it's own private patio and secret garden, a truly rare find in the city. Located at the back of a historic art deco building from 1928, we get little to no street noise, and all of our windows look out on to greenery creating a lovely sense of privacy. You cannot beat the location of this flat. Right in the heart of downtown. The flat is large with a nice comfy couch and a full sized bed so you could easily have 2-4 people stay. Fully equipped kitchen, laundry in building and full wireless capabilities for your internetting. Also, we have a very large flat screen TV with Netflix and Hulu as well as a DVD library in the 300 range, all very pleasant after a long day/night in the city. No cable, sorry. Neighborhood is fantastic for a visitor to our beautiful city! We are 3 blocks from Union Square, 2 blocks to the famous cable car that takes you to North Beach and the Wharf, walking distance to both major train systems (muni and bart) as well as 4 blocks from the famous Geary St pub crawl area which is crammed with lots of great bars and lounges from upscale to fabulously divey. Happy to leave a little guide to the neiborhood for those interested. About booking, Please introduce yourself with an inquiry or email first. If it's for Thanksgiving weekend, we will be leaving and may need to have a friend check you in. Safety: To be safe, we will want to pass the keys off to you personally and show you the place if we can (we'll make other arrangements if that's not possible).
