Comes with a fully equipped gym and pool which is an added bonus so you can unwind and have a work out during your stay. Ideally this would suit an easy going, down to earth, eco friendly, vegetarian friendly traveller. Non smoker and mature traveller who is sensible and clean up after themselves. I look forward to meeting interesting people on their journeys through Sydney. House rules: 1. Enjoy and always bring a smile during your stay! 2. Try to live more sustainably this means no plastic bags in the house. I can provide green bags. 3. It would be nice if you could reduce or avoid eating meat if possible. Description:Our house is a very unique and historic house, it was built in the 19th century, in the village of Eilaboun, which is one of the last remaining Christian villages in the Galilee. It is conveniently located on highway no. 65 the main road From Tel Aviv to eastern Galilee, Zfat, the Golan heights and Keryat Shmona. So it is 10 minutes drive to the western and northern parts of the Sea of Galilee (Yam Keneret), where Jesus taught and lived for many years (many historic churches can be found there), and it is only 20 minutes drive to Nazareth, 15 minutes to Tiberias and 25 minutes to Zfat. YOU ARE GETTING THE WHOLE HOUSE, 3 rooms for 6 persons A GREAT DEAL FOR A GREAT PRICE !! My wife and I restored the house just recently, and we have been living here for one year only. In the past 15 years it was used by the local church of Eilaboun, and served as a large monastery, while at the same time, one of its oldest rooms (built in the 18th centuray) was used as a small church by the nuns all that time. Originally it belonged to my grand grand parents, and was used as the big family’s farming house up till the 1990’s. It was always our dream to renovate it and live in it, and we finally did it. After this huge project of renovation that took us 2 years to complete, the house has become a very famous example for the unique architecture of the 19th century in the Galilee. Recently, few representatives from the Israeli Preservation Society has visited our house after hearing about it in one of the newspapers. The house has few parts, with a total of 480 sq. meters (5100 sq ft.): The main living room is a 75 sq. m. arched stone building, with a fireplace and 47 inches LCD TV,DVD player, Playstation 3, large wooden dining table. This living room is under the second floor in which you have 2 bedrooms , 2 bathrooms, one living room with its TV, computer, Internet and WiFi connection, a small kitchen, and washer and drier. The main kitchen is near the arched living room, and it is outfitted with all the necessary all new appliances: dishwasher, refrigerator, large freezer, wide oven, coffee machine, microwave, toaster… etc. In addition to all of that, there are two separate courtyards/backyards, each one with its own garden and trees. These courtyards were the private space of my family, who were farmers, in which many farm work was done. From the top roof you can see an amazing view of eastern Galilee and the Golan heights (north), while the hills and mountains of the region are to the eastern and western sides. The Galilee, apart from being famous as the biblical area where Jesus lived most of his life, is a region some people call today: the second Toscany, for its hills, villages, and historic atmosphere. The house is located in the old part of Eilaboun, on a hill top. 100 meters from the house you can be in the middle of the nice Galilean nature, with walking trails into the hills and mountains (wonderful for hiking and bird watching). There is a nice trail system in the area, with over hundreds of kilometers of pathways, one of them is the newly marked “The Jesus Trail”, which goes from Nazareth to the Lake of Galilee, while Eilaboun is on the middle. Israel (or “the Holy Land” as some call it) is relatively small, yet it is full with attractions, history and great sunny weather. In addition to the classic sites like Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and the Dead Sea, you got many archaeological sites in the Galilee, so you can enjoy it in short distances. And don’t forget the amazing beaches on the Mediterranean and on the Sea of Galilee! The Sea of Galilee, which is 10 minutes away, is one of the most beautiful spots in Israel, its charm is enhanced by its luxuriant subtropical growth. It is Israel's largest freshwater lake, but this is, of course, not an ordinary body of water. It exists as much in faith and legend as in reality, and it holds a central place in the hearts and minds of millions of Christians around the world, for much of Jesus' ministry took place along, or in close proximity to, its shores. Not surprisingly, many pilgrims find here not only sunshine and water, but also the very spirit of Jesus' life and the echoes of his words. The amazing thing is, while very close to this big lake, a 45 minutes drive from our house will take you to the main skiing site in Israel Mount Hermon, where you can enjoy the snow for months during winter time! Our past guests loved this proximity of sites to visit, and have enjoyed staying in our house, using it as a good base to explore the area. The people of the village are known as most guest welcoming in the country. The residents are mostly secular, educated, and many of them speak 3 or 4 languages, so living in the middle of the Galilee will be a great cultural experience for you and your family, with many different cultures, religions and languages. There are amazing restaurants, microbreweries (we are the 1 beer city in the country), hiking, river sports, music scene, theater, eclectic shops, and so much more that you will absolutely fall in love with our beautiful town. When you stay in my home, you will truly experience the serenity of this country like setting and the convenience of being just 10 minutes from downtown. You will have your own bedroom with a queen bed with your own bathroom in my 3 bedroom 2 bath house. I have an open room to use for yoga, dance, tai chi, etc. Hardwood floors are throughout the home. There are 5 acres of woods in the back. There is no TV, but if you bring your laptop you can surf the web and watch movies. I'll provide some movies for you to choose from. ABOUT THE LOCATION Kealakekua Bay provides incredible Snorkeling, Kayaking, Paddle boarding and Surfing. You can swim with Dolphins, Turtles, Fish, Whales, Rays in the Bay. There are 3 beaches within about a mile, another 5 miles away and many more within 15 miles of the property. The farm borders the oldest coffee mill in the US. They are open to the public for tours and sampling. The mill is a great place to grab a morning espresso and treats. Coffee production season is late July Jan and the mill's operations unpredictably start very early in the morning and can go into the evening (but production only lasts a few hours a day.) The noise has never been an issue for guests at this house. Located in historic Napoopoo, the farm is centrally located only 16 miles from the town center of Kailua Kona. Also, there's an awesome local eatery within a 5 minute walk serving up shaved ice, grass fed beef burgers and plate lunches like Kalbi and Teriyaki Beef.
