Description:Need a relaxing getaway? Come and enjoy our beautiful lake! This cottage is located on the eastern cove of Loon Lake, under a shady canopy of trees. The 2 bedroom house has plenty of sleeping space, a full kitchen, bathroom (no tub, shower only), and a cozy living room. The front door leads directly through the lawn to the dock, where we have the best fishing on the lake. There is a fire pit next to the water for nighttime chats, s'mores, and hot dogs. You are welcome to use the kayaks, paddle boat, floating toys, etc. You may even use the cornhole boards, but prepare to be challenged by our neighbors! This getaway is great for couples who want some time to relax, or for families with children. Children will enjoy swimming and boating, and there is a platform for jumping and diving in deeper water. There are friendly neighbors on either side. We have a good mix of retired people, couples with children, people who live on the lake full-time, and people with weekend cabins. Plenty of parking, no cable, no internet (sorry, we like occasional technology seclusion). Phone service can be spotty. The lake is near to Columbia City for groceries, as well as many other lakes. There is much in the area to explore, and several nearby geocaching points (including one by the boat launch we've never managed to find). There's a putt-putt center on the main highway for kids, or adults will enjoy frisbee golf, a tea room, and other nearby oddities. Boats are welcome. The recently renovated Gladstone Sports Park is perfect for beginner to intermediate downhill skiers and it boasts 3 rope tows, 1 wire, and 1 t-bar. It also has a snowboard run with a regulation half-pipe and an indoor chalet with concessions. n nThere is plenty to do in Gladstone and the surrounding area no matter what the season.
