Description:Need a relaxing getaway? Come and enjoy our beautiful lake! This cottage is located on the eastern cove of Loon Lake, under a shady canopy of trees. The 2 bedroom house has plenty of sleeping space, a full kitchen, bathroom (no tub, shower only), and a cozy living room. The front door leads directly through the lawn to the dock, where we have the best fishing on the lake. There is a fire pit next to the water for nighttime chats, s'mores, and hot dogs. You are welcome to use the kayaks, paddle boat, floating toys, etc. You may even use the cornhole boards, but prepare to be challenged by our neighbors! This getaway is great for couples who want some time to relax, or for families with children. Children will enjoy swimming and boating, and there is a platform for jumping and diving in deeper water. There are friendly neighbors on either side. We have a good mix of retired people, couples with children, people who live on the lake full-time, and people with weekend cabins. Plenty of parking, no cable, no internet (sorry, we like occasional technology seclusion). Phone service can be spotty. The lake is near to Columbia City for groceries, as well as many other lakes. There is much in the area to explore, and several nearby geocaching points (including one by the boat launch we've never managed to find). There's a putt-putt center on the main highway for kids, or adults will enjoy frisbee golf, a tea room, and other nearby oddities. Boats are welcome. The Black Hills vacation home is located at the base of the Black Hills on Rapid City 's West side at beautiful Canyon Lake. Facility also offers full hook-up RV sites. Perfect for family reunions. There is a little something for everyone here at Lake Park Campground and Cottages. Feel like a bike ride or a hike? The paved bike path goes around the lake and along Rapid Creek for approximately 7 miles. Bike rentals across the lake or from one of the bike shops in town. For the fisherman, Rapid Creek and Canyon Lake offer excellent trout fishing. This may be the time to try your hand at fly fishing. If the kids don 't have the patience for fishing they can always go wading in the creek or rent a paddle boat for a little boating fun_don 't worry, motorized boats are not allowed on Canyon Lake. If a little more formal swimming is your desire, the recently built Sioux Park swimming facility is just a couple miles down the bike path, as well as tennis and racquetball courts. For the golfer, Meadowbrook Golf Course is less than a mile away and offers 18 holes of play, a pro shop and dining. When evening comes and you don 't feel up to cooking for the gang, our staff will give you their favorite recommendations for unique dining experiences. We are only four miles from downtown Rapid City. Description:Harper Lake is an All Sports lake for fishing, rowing, waterskiing, ice fishing, and contemplating. It is just a mile from the Little Manistee River and has easy access to over 150 miles of snowmobile trails and hunting in the Manistee National Forest. We are also centrally located for golf in Northern Michigan. Significant towns in the area include Traverse City, Manistee, and Ludington on Lake Michigan, and Cadillac, Big Rapids, and Grand Rapids inland. We have 3 cottages. Each cottage has its own kitchen and bathroom. All linens and dishes are provided, as well as charcoal grills. Just bring the groceries! Cottage 1 is a one-bedroom. Cottages 2 and 3 each have two bedrooms. All cottages have cable TV. There is a stairway from the deck in front of the cottages down to the lake. There are row boats and paddle boats available for your use. PFDs and oars are provided. Guests are welcome to use the outdoor pavilion which has picnic tables, lighting and a wood burning fireplace. If you have your own boat, you may launch it at the DNR public access about 200 yards up the road and tie up at our dock. There is LOTs of wildlife in the area (including a small herd of white deer, see image on sign). Please call or email for rates and availability. Please note that we do not allow pets.
