There are huge beautiful windows in case you want to lounge in a plush leather chair while looking out to the green courtyard or better yet, breathe the fresh air and feel the sun on your face on the front deck. Sleep peacefully we are close enough to the EL for convenience but far enough that it is a distant if unnoticeable sound. Rest soundly in a comy raised twin air mattress with added pillow top padding in a shared room for the single traveler or if traveling with a friend, we can make it two! Our spacious apartment will easily accommodate another couple in a Queen Size air mattress or two travelers since it can also be broken down as two twin air mattresses. We of course welcome and can accomodate the single traveler too. One thing we have learned about living in Chicago, is the weather can go to extremes so Central Heat and Air are MUST HAVES and we have it:) My fiance and I love this city and would like to share the amazing things we have found. We enjoy hosting out of town guests and ensuring they have a great experience. We realize you are either on vacation or here for business and we want you to feel right at home. There is also an alarm system for your additional peace of mind. THE POOL is 30ft by 15ft - ample size for a swim! -and is fully screened, with extended deck that allows you to catch the sun all day, together with a pool-side shower. There is a covered patio/relaxation area with table, chairs, a 2-seater settee and a bar with 3 bar stools. and a fan to take a break from the sunshine. There is also pool-side furniture for those who want to make the most of the Florida sunshine! To fully enjoy those warm Florida evenings, both the pool and the large, outside, screened area, have external lighting. There is a patio area outside the pool screen with a permanently installed BBQ. IN ADDITION ., the villa is fully air-conditioned - essential in Florida - which is supplemented with overhead fans in the living area and the master bedroom. There is an automatic washing machine and tumble dryer provided in the garage - to ensure you can take fewer clothes to leave plenty of space in your suitcases for those visits to Florida's many shopping malls! We welcome individual travelers and group gatherings alike. Birchwood Inn is perfect for family reunions, destination weddings, sporting groups, seminars, and of course, corporate retreats. The philosophy of the original builder, comfortable surroundings fosters friendships, is deeply held by the innkeeper today. Mornings begin with a complimentary continental breakfast, where you can chat with the innkeeper, get the forecast for the day and insider information on the area. There are many things to see and do in our neck of the woods, like exploring local beaches for Petoskey stones, visiting resort communities including Mackinaw, playing a round of golf on a championship course, or going on a guided kayak adventure. The best part however, is returning to the comfort of Birchwood Inn. Take some time to lounge by the pool in summer or sit in front of a roaring fire in winter. Fall is a colorful time to visit as well, the Inn is located at the beginning of the -Tunnel of Trees- a famous scenic drive along Lake Michigan.
