You will be impressed with the spectacular sunrises and sunsets, the romantic moon risings, and the breathtaking, night sky and its incomparable display of stars. You'll see our Amish neighbors farming their land or heading to town in their buggies. You are also likely to see deer and wild turkeys in the fields. For the interest of children, there is a quaint playhouse, as well as a 3-level tree house to explore. In the spring and summer, the children can also enjoy the baby ducks, baby goats, and baby rabbits. There might also be St. Bernard puppies and adorable kittens to play with! For the toddlers, there is an enclosed play area with a sandbox and swings. On our Point, we offer a secluded camping area, which has a fire pit and a picnic table. Description:Need a relaxing getaway? Come and enjoy our beautiful lake! This cottage is located on the eastern cove of Loon Lake, under a shady canopy of trees. The 2 bedroom house has plenty of sleeping space, a full kitchen, bathroom (no tub, shower only), and a cozy living room. The front door leads directly through the lawn to the dock, where we have the best fishing on the lake. There is a fire pit next to the water for nighttime chats, s'mores, and hot dogs. You are welcome to use the kayaks, paddle boat, floating toys, etc. You may even use the cornhole boards, but prepare to be challenged by our neighbors! This getaway is great for couples who want some time to relax, or for families with children. Children will enjoy swimming and boating, and there is a platform for jumping and diving in deeper water. There are friendly neighbors on either side. We have a good mix of retired people, couples with children, people who live on the lake full-time, and people with weekend cabins. Plenty of parking, no cable, no internet (sorry, we like occasional technology seclusion). Phone service can be spotty. The lake is near to Columbia City for groceries, as well as many other lakes. There is much in the area to explore, and several nearby geocaching points (including one by the boat launch we've never managed to find). There's a putt-putt center on the main highway for kids, or adults will enjoy frisbee golf, a tea room, and other nearby oddities. Boats are welcome.
