Description:A safe haven for women travelers, we are located just South of Seattle, within walking distance of Puget Sound, and 20 minutes from Seattle by automobile or Light Rail. We are about 1/4 mile from Ambaum Ave. and the 120 bus either to the Burien Transit Center or to downtown Seattle. Light rail from Tukwilla Station is now open. We provide a women only self catering studio. That means coffee/tea/cereal/milk/bread/butter/fruit/yoghurt is provided but hot breakfast is not served. Studio has own 3/4 bath, Queen bed, loveseat folding out to futon, dresser and closet space. Full kitchen, dining and living areas, iron/ironing board, WiFi. Perfect if you like to cook. Smoking is outside at the back of the yard only, so it does not come in our open windows. Fresh linens and towels provided weekly. We are a quiet and meditative household. Please, no drugs, parties, alcohol abuse, or theft. No illegal activity allowed what so ever. An occasional glass of wine with dinner is our style as well. If you must smoke, then go out to the chairs at the back of the property so the smoke does not drift in our windows. No male guests overnight. All women are welcome. Most children are welcome but we need to discuss prior. We do have pets. Sorry, no additional pets. Our pets do not have to visit you, and if you are allergic we can keep them out of your space. If you are highly allergic then we might not be the best place. Check in time is at 4:00 p.m. or later and check out time is at 11:00 am or sooner. These times are negotiable if no one is here prior or after your visit. If you could give me an estimated time you'll be checking in and checking out, it would be greatly appreciated. Our Studio works best with 2 women. However, we know that friends and kids travel as well so there is a $15 per night for a 3rd guest. Sometimes things break, get spilled or otherwise. Just let us know. :) *Please note, we like to know a little about the women who are going to stay in our home. We prefer to have a message or two back and forth before the actual reservation is confirmed.... more info >>

He thanks all the travelers that he has met over the past 2.5 years and hopes everyone will continue to consider The Virginian for your stays in Seattle. Steve Suarez has taken over building management and operating of our Vacation Rentals, effective October 1, 2011. Old World Charm The Virginian Apartments was once an elegant Victorian hotel dating back to 1918 where early Seattle pioneers stayed. Very little has changed in the building. The original granite entry between the school house lamps now has a gold leaf silhouette of Benjamin Franklin tipping his hat to guests as they arrive. The mahogany grand staircase, ornate mirror and original lamp fixtures are still there. Yes, there are even the old ice chests with wire shelves used for dishes now, and deep soaking tubs. Updated—Yet Still Classic: This SPECIAL Vacation Rental Unit has been updated from original with modern appliances, light fixtures, toilet, and kitchen sink. PARTIALLY furnished with mostly vintage 1960s furnishings, guests find this vacation rental unit very affordable, cozy, and warm. NOTE - This unit is equipped with a TV and DVD player, but NO cable television service. July 2011, we just added Wireless Internet service to this unit. The kitchen is equipped with limited cooking and eating dishes and utencils, but enough to prepare very basic foods. Bedding and towels are provided. Description:I have a lovely, large apartment on the ground level of my house. It's newly remodeled and has views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. Very private and quiet. You'll have the place to yourself, but if you need anything, I live upstairs! (Please contact me for weekly or monthly rates!) There's cable TV, WIFI, stereo CD player and FM/AM radio. The apartment is comfortable and cozy, with books, magazines, and whatever else I might think of. The bed is queen size. I've lived in Seattle a long time and can help arrange activities and suggest destinations. There's really so much to do that you'll probably have to narrow it down. If you are looking for outdoor activities, there are many hiking trails in the two close by mountain ranges (The Olympic Mountains to the West and the Cascade Mountain Range to the East). If you head east you can visit the rain forest and the ocean! North to beautiful country and farmlands, and after 1 1/2 hours, Canada! To the south there's Tacoma (45 minutes) with many great museums, and southeast to Mount Rainier. Seattle is known for it's theater scene and restaurants. Too many to enjoy in a short visit, but you'll have your pick. Small kitchen with 2 burner cooktop, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and toaster. If you have special needs, please let me know in advance. Farmer's market 1 mile away, every Sunday. Bathroom has a single stall shower (no bathtub). All sheets, towels, paper supplies for kitchen and bath supplied, as well as towels and bed linens. If you have a very little one with you, there is a portable crib and high chair. (Please note: the form I fill out in order to list this requires number of bedrooms, so I enter 1. It is really one very large area divided into various spaces. There is also an extra large closet/storage room with window. !/4 mile walk to one of the largest parks in Seattle, with lots of beach access and a salt water swimming pool (open through Labor Day. One mile to an area of shops, restaurants, cafes, etc. Downtown Seattle is about 7 miles. The public transportation is a bus system. There are two bus lines that come close to my house. There is a water taxi that takes 10 to 15 minutes from West Seattle to downtown Seattle. You can check it out here: Minimum stay, two nights. (Please do not invite extra guests. Description:This is the life! Serene, lovely private bedroom and bath in your own private suite, with lots of amenities, 1 block from Alki Beach, in gorgeous home in West Seattle. Private entrance, use of deck with 270-degree views of Puget Sound and the Olympics. Get away from it all, with breathtaking views and beach access--yet still just 8 minutes from downtown Seattle. Near the shops and restaurants of the Admiral District and Alki, as well as several bus routes. Yet the house and especially this wonderful spacious downstairs area is quiet and leafy and feels miles away from the city. The room is fully furnished, and freshly painted and decorated, with a comfy queen-size feather bed on top of the full bed. The only sounds you'll hear are the birds at the feeder outside the window, and maybe the splash of the waves in the distance. The space is ideal for two, but a third can be accommodated on a separate single bed in the entertainment room area. (And arrangements can be made for more, as the futon couch in the entertainment room can also be made into a comfy bed that sleeps 2.) Wi-fi, cable TV and laundry facilities are included. The main room has a lovely fireplace. The kitchenette features coffee maker and coffee, an electric tea kettle, a toaster, microwave and a private mini-fridge stocked with juices, muffins and accoutrements. Easy to get to and from by bus, and there's an off-street parking spot if you're driving. It's just a 15-minute bus ride (or water taxi ride!) to downtown Seattle. There's no smoking in the house (or candle-burning--smoke alarm is very sensitive), but there's a place outside on the patio where you can smoke if desired. Pets approved on a case by case basis, for $10 a night extra. Come enjoy the beauty of the beach, right in the heart of the city! [Note: I may need to come through the space from time to time, to use the laundry or get something from the freezer I also usually come in through the space from the garage to go upstairs, but will knock if/when I am coming. If you'd prefer I go outside and avoid coming through as much as possible, just let me know that and I will honor that the best I can. I want you to feel as much privacy as possible.]... more info >>
