Add a little touch of history to the mix, as this self-catering accommodation was once part of an old convent, and the fact that itâ,€™s a short walk into town and youâ,€™ve found yourself just the place to spend your holiday! n n(5,000m2) Dating back to the 1600â,€™s this villa, which was once part of old convent of Cappucini monks, is surrounded by olive groves, and vineyards. There is a garden with a table and chairs as well as a small house (100m2) that can be used for gatherings or meetings. There is a private swimming pool (6m x 14m) that is surrounded by cascades and roses. Nearby are sun loungers and umbrellas. Please be aware that the villa features an independent apartment where the owners live, but complete privacy is maintained at all times. There is also an attic, which has a separate entrance and staircase, where the gardener lives. Parking is available within the property grounds. n n(700m2) nGround floor: The entrance leads to a living room with couches, armchairs, and French doors with access to the garden. There is a large dining room with a table and chairs. The kitchen is equipped with a cook-top, oven, pizza oven, microwave, toaster, American coffee maker, mixer, and dishwasher. A laundry room is complete with a washing machine, dryer, iron, and ironing board. An office has a computer and ADSL internet connection. There are two service bathrooms, each with a sink and toilet. nFirst floor: A staircase and elevator lead up to the first floor where there are five bedroom suites and one bedroom. The five bedroom suites each have a living area with a sofa bed (most comfortable for one, but available for two), small fridge, satellite TV, and CD player. Please note that the beds of each suite are located above the living areas in a loft accessible via a staircase. The first bedroom suite has a 200 cm king-sized bed and two ensuite bathrooms, the first with a sink, toilet, and shower and the second with a sink, toilet, and tub. The second, third, and fourth bedrooms each have a living room with a sofa bed (most comfortable for one, but available for two), a loft with a 200 cm king-sized bed, and two ensuite bathrooms, the first with a sink, toilet, and shower and the second with a sink, toilet, and tub. The fifth bedroom has two 115 cm single beds and an ensuite bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower, and another bathroom with sink, toilet, and tub with a handheld showerhead. Just seven kilometers away is Lucca, which is worth enjoying simply for its medieval charm, but there are also a number of interesting sights to visit. The Duomo di San Martino and the Church of San Michele in Foro are both gorgeous examples of period architecture, while the Casa di Puccini, where the composer was born, has been transformed into a small museum in his honor. You can also climb the 130-foot Torre Guinigi, but on the other hand viewing the tree-topped tower from below might be just as enjoyableâ,€Ś, and a lot less work! Plus there are plenty of shops and restaurants for your enjoyment. Two large Kitchenaid dishwaters are positioned on either side of the sink under the granite countertop. A second prep area and sink are located near the walk in pantry. Prior to the opening of Highway 17 (a.k.a., Banks/Lowman Road) in 1999, the road to Lowman was not for the faint of heart. At that time, the road to Lowman was not via Garden Valley, but rather by a treacherous gravel switchback snaking up from Idaho City. Now, Highway 17 is a paved corridor that whisks the motorist through breathtaking scenery, historic places, and intriguing landscapes. It offers incomparable glimpses of wilderness, yet is easily and safely traveled. nThis beautiful area has played host to trappers, miners, loggers, and a legion of Roosevelt's conservation workers in the 1930s. With Boise National Forest to the west, and the Middle Fork of the Payette River close by, Garden Valley is ideally situated to everything 'outdoors.' Anglers - fly-fishers especially - can test their skills against native bull trout, cutthroat, browns, and bulls. There's kayaking, rafting, and tubing in rapids that go all the way to class 5. Head out on a hike on one of 12 trails in the area. In winter, snow shoe-ers, snowmobilers, and cross country aficionados will have 250 miles of trails to explore. Or, check out some of the hot springs in the area.
